I voted no to the auction house because of its bigger-picture impact. How will an auction house impact the value of keys and salvage? Right now keys are a sink for salvage, but if keys lose their value then salvage loses significant value as well. Keys could/will lose value if an AH comes into the game because players will happily pay a premium to get a weapon they want/know they'll use rather than gambling on lock boxes (which - in my experience - might give you only one usable item).

I have spent years mastering the AH of WoW. I regularly funded my entire guild's progression, bought my friends mounts, etc. I'm not saying no to the AH because I don't use it or it's not my style - quite the opposite. It is very much in my wheel house, but I understand the way an economy works enough to know that an AH is not going to be good for this game.

The real fix, as far as I see it, is to make trading viable. Make trading viable and you don't need a balance-disrupting AH.

An AH would in no way hurt the game as far as keycodes and ark salvage go. Are you being serious? The forum that is used for trading is basically a ghetto auction house. People are still using ark salvage and keycodes. An in-game AH would just make things more organized and make people have to hunt less. It still benefits buyers, sellers, etc. It would not hurt the value of keycodes and ark salvage. Lockboxes are the only way to obtain legendaries, unless you forgot already. Adding an AH would not magically add millions of legendary item into the circulation. Rethink your all knowing thoughts, sir. c:

Yep a AH would be great, a one stop for players to sell items even when they are not logged in? Maybe that kind of thing!

+1 to AH for me as well

The number of players actively trading in the forums is a fraction of a percentage of all those playing the game. Their impact on the economy is miniscule, at best. An AH would be open to all players as a function *within the game*...which is the most significant difference.

The point you make about key codes still being needed to procure oranges is valid. What you're ignoring, though, is that the cost for finding your desired weapon drops drastically when exposure is changed so radically. Having an AH in-game means that everyone's oranges are on display. The barrier-to-entry (so to speak) for oranges would see an enormous drop off. You'd have the "merchants" farming keys, and everyone else would ignore keys entirely. It'd be like a warped division of labor. Humans follow incentives - look at the backlash from emergencies losing their key code reward. Even if something is fun to do, we won't do it if we're not adequately rewarded. If I can grind a dozen coops to get 4 random items that have a tiny chance to contain a random orange...OR I can do just about anything else and horde scrip to buy an orange I know I want from the AH, I'm going to forgo coops entirely (even if I loved doing them before).

If you're scared the AH could kill the economy and make people not want to do quests, they could make quest items that were worth something and make them non-sellable/tradeable. But for an item to be that good, it's needs to be a hard, lengthy quest, something this game doesn't have. Nothing in it takes more than 5 minutes except for Nim, he took 10
