Scopes are currently bugged, do not use them.

Just a friendly reminder, as I've come across 7 people today who did not know that scopes are currently bugged. Some even argued that they weren't, and that their guns were in fact more accurate with a lvl III scope mode. XD

They are currently bugged, and are detrimental to your weapons. The lesser the accuracy number, the better. So, in short, "-" signs are good, "+" signs are bad.

For the accuracy stat, it's based on how far the bullet deviates from the center of the cross hairs. So 0.30 is more accurate than a say, 0.80 weapon. Because the 0.80 weapon has a bigger bloom. A bigger "cone of fire" as they call it. So if your gun has a -0.30 accuracy modifier, it is actually 30% MORE accurate. All scopes add to the accuracy stat at the moment, making the weapon less accurate.

This has been your PSA from Nef for today.

This is easiest to see with shotguns. Equip a shotgun with a high accuracy, and you will notice the crosshairs are HUGE, get a shotgun with low accuracy, and the crosshairs are MUCH more tighter.

Check the Votan shotguns. One version, the gold and grey auto fragger, has around 14 for accuracy, its red and white counter part has around 7. The 7 shotgun is a long range weapon.

    Is this on all weapons?

I ask because I like putting tactical scopes on my AR's.

Ugg I know, and I can't just remove the scope without destroying all the other mods.

All weapons, if it's a scope, it's bad atm.

I see in another thread they responded saying they fixed this. Maybe they mean in the upcoming patch?

I havn't noticed this problem actually, my current primary weapon is a semi-auto assault rifle with a tac-scope and it seems to be spot on.

That's been my experience, with various levels of 'spot on'. I slapped a scope on top of the one that came with a FRC Heavy Assault Rifle and didn't see any change, positive or negative.

And I've use snipers that had no extra scope attached, yet a perfectly lined-up headshot seemingly whizzed by the target. The red dot was about the same size as the target, so maybe one needs to be closer.

It's just that the stupid default sight you get off most ARs isn't helpful. The purple blast rifle I bought, which isn't a real bargain due to my ignoring that it had NO slots available at purchase, is in dire need of a better sight, buggy or not. Even the lowest level sight, the one that probably has the least amount of this 'bug', is necessary, although just to screw with me I expect the sight slot to be the last I get.

For the tl;dr crowd, a buggy sight is better than none...
