    Self-heal doesn't give you exp.

I thought the leveling up comes from dmg/heal done not enemies killed.

which is why some say San Quentin and the Hulker guy at the end is farmable. Has this changed?

    This.

Also there's a emergency called Dark Matter Convoy or Weapons Shipment or something that spawns nonstop west of the overpass. Kill the Dark Matter and hop up on the trucks when the scrappers spawn. You'll need something other than the BMG to kill the helibots, but the mongrels, omnivolts and forge can't hit you up there and there are quite a few of them since the emergency is intended to be done with the super weapons lying around.

    There is no quick way

BMGs gather experience too slowly for any method to be effective.

However, the best farming method would be the San Quentin Hulker: fry him, and then when he enters his final rage state, die and you restart at him, but he has full health again. Repeat.

I used the Protectors, found emergencies with many soft mobs in a small area. Burned down the mobs, moved to the next emergency, repeat. It didn't take long and I got all the goodies from emergencies. Using Overcharge helps a little too. Or just spam run co-ops. I really doubt anyone cares if your damage is low.

    Lol Skyrim methods!

I think that one of the co-op missions with the 99ers were the best way. I can't remember which one it was but it was one where there were skitterlings as well. Since there are technically two bottleneck places I figured it was the best place to level anything.

Surprisingly i have found by equipping a spanner my exp grind is alot less grindy compared to using a stingray etc, it might be something to do with the longer firing beam ticking for more exp versus the shorter beam time but more damage with the stingray, Equip a Spanner and have a go and see how it fits for you, i've managed to gain a level and a half (lvl5 to 6 and a half) within 2 hrs. This method was used on the Hulker seeing as we at a minimum tick 94hp off him rather then 8hp off of a standard hellbug (wheres the logic on that?)

I tick off 50-70 hp on skitterlings, hit ~4-5 at once, and they respawn as fast as I recharge at my skitterling spot not to mention I never have to dodge or kill myself. Food for thought.
