Slot machines are not random. No where does it say they are when you are gambling. They're actually in intervals, partially random, partially embedded, think of it like a tree, the machine has to hit specific outcomes to work its way up the branch to a payout, and resets back down a branch or even back to the beginning after every payout. 1 machine could have BILLIONS of branches though. That's the difference, it makes you THINK it's random, truth is the machines are not random.
The loot boxes from Defiance are somewhat random, but some ARE better then others, but this is not explained at all, the % still should be displayed. As is, it's a dirty/cheap tactic not to display the chances but to display all the purchasable lock boxes as the same thing, just different quantity. The fact an entire community has to make a spread sheet to figure it out should tell you something.
The odds on other games are self explanatory, IE, craps, roulette, etc.
You don't have to use real money/bits to get a lockbox
If they told us how low those odds really are, people would stop buying them with Bits.
> Say no to the Greed Collective™. Boycott the Bit Store. <
The point being it is not the Devs/Casinos that give you the information, someone else figured it out and explained them, just like other people have done with the loot boxes. Even your knowledge of how slot machines work comes from someone else and not a placard mounted to the machine by the Casinos. I'm sure someone somewhere could data-mine the exact number somehow, but it still wouldn't be the Devs telling you what the %'s are, it would be someone else who figured it out and released the information.
Let's also not forget to factor in the fact, that lock boxes purchased with bits, can have completely different results from those purchased with resources, if they disclosed that I'm sure it would piss a lot of people off.
Also, the pricing of the Outfits, Helmets, Vehicles, Everything in the Defiance store; is strategically priced so that you have to buy more than you need. For example, the Outfit "Renegade" is priced at 880. The packs that you purchase all end in `00.' This means that you are forced to buy more than you need. This is clearly a scam; I hope I'm not the only one seeing it.
For people who might still not understand.. You pay 880 bits, to do so you have to buy 3 packs of 400 bits. It is strategically set up that way so you buy more of the bits, It's immoral and clearly a ripoff.
