The main point in getting the season pass is to save on DLC by bulk purchasing in advance prior to the DLC actually being released. You save 20% in the long run, that's if you stay for the long run of course.
Elaborating further:
When the DLC is released you'll be able to get it because you paid for it already. People without the season pass will have to buy it when it's released, because they have not paid for it in advance. The same process will repeat for the next 4 DLC they release which will probably be over the course of the next 18 months probably.
Are you upset about not getting your Hellbug hat or Lockbox? Other than that I don't know what content it is you're referring to at the moment.
Never pre-order DLC like this for any game. Even your most favorite game ever. You never know what your going to get until it actually gets released. Plus by the time it comes out you may be totally over said game. So many games to play so little time.
I they have said a few weeks ago i can't remember what video it was i was watching. They did say that the DLC that people buy or owners of the DLC season pass. Will have access to everything that the DLC brings. With the free content DLC that will come out, it will NOT have all the stuff that the DLC is getting. DLC owners will have another race we can choose from. Free Will not get access to that. All the new features everyone will get but most of the DLC stuff you will not unless you get the DLC or season pass. Just go and look at how DCUO does it with there DLC. Then you will understand how Trion is doing there DLC with this game.
Season passes for dlc are pretty common now. None of the season passes have ever had fully detailed info on everything it will include right off the bat. Usually you won't know until within a couple weeks of what each individual pack will contain. Beyond the price and how many dlc packs you get with it, there usually isn't much more to go on. None of these packs have been released yet and you are already disappointed? Trion has said they delayed dlc so they can fix existing issues first. Have you ever purchased software before? Once opened or redeemed it's non refundable. You took the information they gave about the season pass and decided to purchase it. They have not changed what you receive with the season pass and suddenly you changed your mind. Why make Trion out to be deceitful when it's all about you just changing your mind. If I purchase something I know upfront is non refundable and regret it later, I don't feel I am the exception that deserves a refund. I deal with making the wrong choice.
I can't find the post right away War, but if I recall correctly, they stated each DLC will have a paid component that you can only access via the Pass or by buying the DLC itself, as well as a 'free' component that everyone will have access to. There's not been much else given in the way of details other than that.
I think we probably would have heard more on that a couple of weeks ago, if not for them having pushed back the DLC schedule in order to work on the bug fixes they've been deploying.
I'd definitely hold off a little longer if you can, at least until the blog post they stated would have more information in it. If nothing else, it will help avoid any issues involved in refunding the Pass, then purchasing it again later should you decide the DLC are worth it, and finding out that your account is all borked up from the refund process.

Not quite. As a DC Universe Online player since launch (and still going) every portion of their DLC is locked behind the pay-wall. No part of that DLC is given away for free, no matter how small a part.
What Trion has stated they are doing with DLC, and some minor mission portions of it being free to everyone, is not the same.
