One thing that makes me happy is, I bought the Season Pass from Greenman Gaming about 1 week after the game released for $15 because of a sale they were doing and a coupon code I got from another gaming forum that a poster posted up.

lol if they give content from there away for free (having people do the missions for free) then it wouldn't even be worth 15 dollars either. They really need to get to updating that topic by a lot.

I would like to suggest that if you want a refund, you should ask for it now. Most retailers have a time limit on when you can get a refund, regardless of if something was used or not.

The only things that i never got from the DLC for DCUO was the new areas and powers oh and also that Laugh DLC but even that had a lot of elements that i had access to. Everything else i got. Now as for Defiance. Sure small portion of the missions but that's hardly anything out the DLC. Besides, i much rather have a new race to pick from if i wanted to roll a new character then not get the DLC and get restricted to some elements that i can benefit from.

Well they said some content would be free, so they don't separate the community. Like I said earlier, my best guess is that DLC could add new areas on the map, and the free people can only do Emergencies and Arkfalls in those areas, where as people who bought the DLC can do the missions, time trials, rampages, hot shots, pursuits, and contracts.

Lke I said, a guess and to me seems like the most reasonable way to go about it.

5 DLC packs really shouldn't be $50 end of story. Maybe $30 max. Even more so when it can't be told what is even IN them. For all we know they could be just adding teddy bears and monkeys.

Besides.....by the time they even release them, how many people will still have had any expectation of them.
    Glad I never bought them.

Trion has posted details on a season pass for Defiance, its MMO-meets-a-TV-show project in conjunction with SyFy. The season pass will cost players $39.99 and enable access to the game's first five DLC packs, which will include a new playable alien species, along with lots of new weapons, vehicles, missions, and other rewards. Plus, pass buyers get two bonus items: a digital Hellbug combat cap, and an extra Lock Box (which is a sealed container in the game for a chance at another item).

A new race would efinitely be cool but as it stands for now making alts is extremely pointless since your one character can have all the skills, use all the guns, and use all the gear. So unless you use another character for storage or some other minor idea there really isn't much worth going through the trouble of making another character which heavily sucks for a mmo game because alts are damn fun to make. I hope they change that some how.

Yeah that is what I am definitely hoping for. It would be completely dumb to say in the lightest way for any company to charge 40 dollars for a SP and then to give 95% of the important content away for free. Plus I can't see stuff like new dungeons being able to be done by people with out the proper gear and having that gear drop from arkfalls alone. Most likely that idea is correct and then I will definitely get my sp but I have the sinking feeling that I should just hold out a bit until then.

    Vague.

I mean looking at that, it doesn't mention new areas. So everyone gets free access to the map but you have to pay to access the venders and npcs.

WIth giving everyone access to the area they do not separate the gaming community, friends can still play with each other in the new area, even though one or more of them do not have the DLC, they just won't be able to do the stuff I listed above and get credit for it, though they can help out their friends who do.

Just a guess on my part, and makes the most sense to me.
that's exactly how I envisioned it, very similar to the LotRO model.
Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.
