Controlled Burst Magazine Question

I remember reading about the Controlled Burst Magazine mod - someone was talking about a specific rifle or LMG that really worked well with it.

Does anyone remember the details of that? Search doesn't turn up anything.

The semi-auto FRC carbine. Can't recall the exact type, heavy assault or what not. Basically, that +3 burst fire mod turns that single shot marksmen esque rifle into an unstopable killing machine. 444 damage, only problem is the 20 mag clip size. Works particularly well if you can get an innate mag and accuracy bonus on the gun.

Hmmm - I thought it was supposed to be with an AR that already had a 3-round burst and this turned it into a 9-round burst?

What Omni stated, having the 3 round burst on the semi auto heavy carbine allows you to turn it full auto since there is no delay between you pulling the trigger and the next 3 round burst going off. In fact, I would argue it becomes even faster than full auto since you can fire off consecutive bursts before the previous one finishes. Forgot to mention it has little to no recoil and it is super accurate.

Is there a mod vendor that sells the 3 round burst mag? I had one but dont remember where.

i have 2 of these and i always save the mod after gun levels. place on fcr heavy carbine, buy power bore barrel mod II(5% damage increase) and go to town. You can spam button and kill fast. 20 shot clip is only weakness, but think of it as 8 shot dmr.

If you put it onto something that already has a burst, it replaces that burst. In other words, it would have no effect on a 3-round burst AR.

I hate those mags. I put one on my mazu blast and it was still automatic but it did make the gun/sound glitch horribly that it indeed hardfroze my ps3 so I sold it

I think you may be thinking of a saw. If you use a controlled burst mod it triples your fire rate. It doesn't do anything like adding a burst or anything, it just adds a x3 to your damage number and fires 3 bullets at a time instead of 1.
