The thread by Trion was started at 12:56pm PST and it is now 3:37pm PST. This is unacceptable!

It's funny, I posted weeks ago that the game was getting worse as the patches started being implemented and the majority of people jumped all over my @$$ for it. But this post is just simply towards Trion... Most of my friends have already given up on the game and traded it in for a reserve on another game. I tried to stick it out hoping to get my moneys worth out of the game, but if I have to re-do EVERYTHING... Even just one thing that I have already accomplished this game is GONE. And not to mention more of my XP Boost going down the drain. And all I'm probably going to get is a "We're sorry for the issues, have a nice day".

The question I have is how do people even know where they were on their progression? If the stats were reset and you were only say 20k kills into something, how would you know that without screenshotting every day? Or is this just a quick fix for people who were on the cusp, and everyone else's kills will be adjusted properly after whatever fix they have in mind? (Since they can tell how many you have had) Only my fourth day playing today so i'm not close, but it's been almost 4 days of straight playing and I've progressed quite a bit, the thought of losing that progress is pretty horrifying.

I had also read somewhere that getting your skills (weapon, rollers, etc.) to level 20 and then raising them to 21 would make them reset as well. Is this already fixed?

I bought and played Sim City and can tell you I don't play that game anymore. Every 2 hours losing around 1 hour of work was just too frustrating.

Well now...here I am posting. Significance ? I usually don't post unless there is something that I extremely appreciate and I'm really excited about....or that it is something that is extremely wrong and disappointing. So I don't post a lot. Unfortunately this posting isn't something I am excited about nor do I appreciate has happened. So let me get down to it and get it all out of my system and put in my 5 cents. 2 wasn't enough.

First off let me just say that this is a game I can see a lot of potential for as I'm sure plenty of others would agree. I supported this game AND the TV show for the sole purpose that it is something new, something interesting, something a little different and for the balls to make a game and TV show work hand in hand and created side by side. An example of this is seeing Nolan and Irisa in the game via "Episode Quest" before the launch of the show. The idea that they leave the bay area and then show up at St. Louis, imo, was very clever and showed just how neat the interaction between the game and the tv show can be. This is something I would love to see more of .

Now with that being said I have enjoyed the game for the most part, overlooking the disconnects, the lag, the buggy items, the reloading bug animation, loadouts AND the fact that the "synergies" are not even working (You guys and gals at Trion reaaally need to get on that btw). I have even looked over all those times the Co-op maps were broken (well not really..that is superbly annoying ) or the fact that the $12 bucks I spent on clan boost never worked. Heck ... I'm sad to say that I have yet to complete all of the Co-op maps due to the boss kills not registering thus leaving the "instance" incomplete/stuck or just to the fact they would be broken the day I try to play them . These are just the issues that stick out strongly in my mind as there is several other issues not mentioned. I overlooked all this because I know how buggy early mmo's can be and also the fact I still had plenty of side quests and story quests to do.

Now that I have completed those missions...I find myself trying to keep busy in the game via the Pursuits, Contracts, Arkfall hunting and Co-op maps like a lot of other gamers. I have spent quite a bit of time rolling around in my roller working on these things which unfortunately are quite tedious. After downloading the 1.13 patch and logging in today and checking my Pursuits...I was , how can I say this politely, beyond disappointed (and that is really sugar coating it) to see that the counter for all the kills I had for all my guns, all of my "total" kills, all of my powerslides for vehicles and people I "resurrected" during major arkfall events all reset to 0 . That was just what I noticed in the 5 mins I was logged in before the game server was taken down for emergency maintenance. The 4442 of 5000 bolt action sniper kills was particularly crushing to see reset to 0. A face palm smiley would be appropriate here. At least I got my 5000 for assault rifles before this occurred .

These kind of issues really are game breakers due to the abundance of other minor problems in the game ... especially since weapons are virtually un-important (I say that because it makes no sense that a 336 EGO weapon is just as good as a 1162 EGO weapon of the same type.. ..which is a whole thread topic in itself. ) It's almost the equivalent of starting all over from scratch with the exception that at least your EGO ranking is still functional. These Pursuits, Contracts, Arkfall hunting, Co-op maps and PvP are the only thing that is keeping this game going AND players coming back. At least for me it is and when these things are not working consistently or I really should say are consistently breaking ... it is really quite the let down. With all this I find it extremely hard to motivate myself to continue playing the game . I just can't in good conscious go back and re-do all those pursuits that took me weeks to accumulate to acquire what a title and a new costume ? Hardly worth the time required as it is, much less having the counters constantly reset due to poor foresight and testing and having to redo them completely. As a result this gives me the feeling that there is no reason what so ever of coming back to the game. What is the incentive ?

In conclusion, if these things are not fixed and stable ASAP ... I foresee a mass exodus of gamers away from this title that had "Ohh so much" potential. This in turn makes me wonder how much this will affect the TV show. I for one have no problem cutting ties with a game that is consistently frustrating and broken even IF I spent money on the Season Pass and a few bucks on some bits. I will be hanging up the game for a bit... maybe try back in a week or so. But If I don't see these counters given back to me reasonable amount of time or at least compensated in some way given the time and money I've spent on this game ... I really can't see me coming back to this game as well I'm sure others feel the same. Gamers can put up with a lot of issues regarding games that they like ... but the gamers patience are not infinite ... they are quite finite.

Oh and as a side note .... people that bought the game after the TV show should have access to the "Episode" quests involving Nolan and Irisa .... the fact they missed out and can't experience those quests is really quite unacceptable and frankly stupid. Sorry ... I couldn't sugar coat that one. Also .... when it comes to patches .. does Trion even play test these patches to see if they work before you release them live thus breaking so many things gamers worked so long for ? The current trend in this game is giving the impression that you don't ... and that makes for a poor company image. Just sayin.

Looks like everyone wants to just complain. I have played a few MMOs in my life and they all have issues still. So take a six foot straw and suck it the hell up or take your ball, go home, and quit so I can enjoy an MMO where people dont whine about every little problem

I was wondering the same thing, I don't have screen shots or exact figures. I cannot remember the program and/or website that voted on it, but Sim City was voted at one point the worst and/or most disappointing game of the year, Defiance may well topple them at this rate. It's a strange thing for me at the moment. Yesterday I was a strident and unshakable supporter of patience and cooperation with Trion, even going so far as to take time out of my day to contact live support and tell them about a potential exploit I had discovered.

After today I've thrown in the towel, I'll play the game and I'll enjoy the world built around it, but not one iota of help, cooperation, understanding, sympathy, or patience will Trion ever get out of me again.

The above isn't written in anger by the way, it's almost in a state of relief. I feel like the dam finally burst inside me ( not the Dam from the Hotshot, that obviously doesn't exist ) and the lack of a need to feel any sort of necessity to make an effort to give Trion the benefit of the doubt. It's actually somewhat freeing, I know longer feel compelled to worry about it. I don't care about how " hard " it is to do things right and avoid mistakes, I don't care about what went wrong, I don't even want to hear about what went wrong anymore and I certainly don't want an excuse or attempt at excuse provided by Trion, the only thing I want to hear from them from hear on out are apologies, and the only thing I expect out of them are results, and frankly I don't care if they fire someone to get it done, if some people have to work all night to fix it and as a result and then their marriages fail because daddy or mommy isn't home enough. In reality I think that should that happen, it's not my fault, I expect to be treated with a modicum of professionalism and decency, and the that if the product you release fails so severely that it negatively effects the individuals who are working for Trion, honestly my response is " tough schtako "

Now I'm not particularly pleased by my thoughts on this topic, I think that it should concern a person when they find themselves in a state of a complete lack of empathy with a group of people who you do not know. Any rational and sane person would find themselves disturbed, as I do, by that sudden lack of empathy, but while I am concerned personally for myself about a sudden loss of empathy for an entire group of people, I cannot gain it back, so I will not worry myself to the point where it becomes unpleasant for myself.

Today's events have absolutely amazed me, the last big patch went to hell in a hand basket and I said " It was an innocent mistake and they'll be careful it doesn't happen again " I waited for the 24 hours roughly it took for the horrible mistakes to be fixed and went on with my life in the Paradise area. However, someone please explain to me how it's possible, especially after the unbelievable failure and incredible ( and close to unprecedented ) of the first patch in which literally nearly everything in the entire game broke, for a company to see that, do a freak out scrambling to fix their own mistakes, write a long and emotional apology about it, and then the next major patch they manage to do the exact same damn thing.

This is my analogy and I do hope it doesn't offend someone.

If I was a wife ( if I was female ) to a guy who during our first month of marriage got really drunk and depressed because of something genuinely stressful and slapped me in a fit of domestic violence when he got home. I would eventually forgive him after counseling and having him go to anger management and learn how to control his emotions better. I'm not condoning domestic violence here, but I will give everyone, male or female, one pass on hitting their partner ( women get more than one pass in our society, which I understand and won't complain about. I'm not one of those guys who claims that women have more rights than men now, but for all the women out there could you after you hit your partner, if you have a male partner in that I'm making an assumption that in Lesbian couples both parties can swing away, if you could just please after you hit your partner jump back and pretend you might get hit back. No man should hit a woman unless they are defending their life, and I truly believe that, but it's a little much to get hit and then have them not even jump back. Just support our illusion that you believe in some level of equality there, it's insulting to get hit and then hold a tissue to you nose till the blood stops while at the same time having to listen to someone talk smack at you. Does thinking that make me an *** hole? Maybe it does, but anyway back to my original point ) if they then go to some pretty impressive lengths to change their minds and their behavior so that in no way does it ever happen again.

If it happens again it's more or less the correct path in all respects to break off that relationship and get away from a dangerously unhinged man. It is after all very sensible to be afraid of dangerously unhinged men regardless of situation.

Now in my analogy today was " punch number 2 " and I end up having to ask myself " Why am in this relationship? " well for now I'm waiting to see what the results are, that last little bit of " Well there is still some shred of chance that the person I'm in this relationship with ( Trion ) will change their ways " is still with me.

Now I would like to point out two things at the end of this post. First I realize using domestic violence as an analogy for today's actions and the actions of the last patch may be explosively overreaching and on the verge of insulting to those who have been victims themselves of domestic violence. Please understand that I in no way mean offense but also in no way am I backing down from my analogy. The point of analogy is to add gravity to a situation, and by comparison to something horrible, I am bringing into context the mentality that many may feel after back to back " blows to the head " delivered by Trion. Is it in the same league or same place on the schisms of horror in the world? Absolutely not, but by using one to describe the other it brings into focus the feelings of some of the clients.

The second is, again by analogy, a message to Trion: I will not be the metaphorical punching bag that keeps bailing you out of jail while explaining to my friends how I got these bruises by falling down the stairs. ( My friends people people who might be considering buying this game )
