I have not been able to complete the patch since it was released PS3

title says it, i have tried over and over and over again, I cannot get the patch to complete, only to 75% then i get error codes, =( so much for the most wanted challenge.

I have connectivity to all other areas, PSN, other devices around the home, etc did everything on my end to assure its not connection issues, and everything is ok.

Been like 3 days and have not been able to play, ;sadface

I have the digital copy if that helps, i will post error codes as i get them i will keep trying.



Is there another way to update game without launching it ?? i think the problem may lie there somehow.

Ok i was watching my router log as I tried to update, all ip's were allowed from the psn, before i tried to update, then once i tried to update this was blocked:

[site blocked: b0.ww.np.dl.playstation.net] from source xxx.xxx.x.xx(my ps3 static ip), Thursday, May 02,2013 11:05:14

So i will try to see if i can unblock this.

Router is a netgear wnr1000

Unblocking that site i mentioned above did not resolve the issue, tried update again and still stopped at 75%

UPDATE OKOK so honestly i dont know wtf was happening.

It seems as if there was a PSN update that had to be done, ... but it said it was a software update once i launched Defiance. it was v 1.02 or 1.2 tbh i cannot remember frustration has gripped me in rage repair mode.

So after hooking the modem directly to ps3 the update went thru, then i was able to hit the Defiance splash page that says "press start" ( i was previously not able to see it only hear the music in the background of the black screen with white text saying software update) so this excited me like YES

So then i had to wait for 8 minutes of patching for DEFIANCE v 1.013 which i had not previously ever seen but thought was giving me trouble.

The patch completed. and went back to landing page saying Press Start, i press start and .........

over all i am glad i had this morning off to be able to diagnose and repair,
I have been working my butt off with 2 jobs as of late.

turned out my router was blocking some bogus psn update, and it appeared that it was a defiance update..
once router was out of equation it suceeded but it seems the servers are down now ? ill go check status..
