Well for one thing there is complaining with Tact.
    And complaining without Tact.

The majority of people posting on the forums complaining have ZERO tact. They also don't give out any constructive criticism. Most of it just negative criticism. While some criticism is good just posting negative stuff doesn't help the situation and leads to White Knighting by some people.

Having Constructive but negative criticism opens room for discussion and possible resolvement of the issue. But posting "THIS IS GARBAGE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONIES." is purely negative and not constructive.

However if you have "This is broken and needs to be fix. And this is my suggestion how it should be done." Is both a negative and constructive criticism.
Most customer service people prefer a calm collected individual that has an issue to be resolved in a fast and timely manner. Rather than some Blow hard, Red Faced, Angry at the world because his chicken nuggets where cold customer.

Sometime the second person would get a run around while the first person got a swift to resolution their problem. Because lets face it any normal person would rather deal with someone cool and collected rather than some foaming at the mouth mad because such and such didn't work correctly.

Now i'm not say Stop being mad just use some tact when posting what your gripe is about. I've seen quite a few tactful gripes on the forums but the majority of them i see is "Blah blah blah Garbage Blah blah blah Money back blah blah blah Crap game ever."

Their launch wasn't bad--their game was.

There have been very few widely accepted, good MMO's in the last five or six years. That means the majority of MMO's have an array of issues, and tend to only appeal to smaller groups. While these groups may be several tens of thousands of people, or more, they are still very small compared to the size of the industry. I recommend you keep that in mind when reading reviews and player commentary. What we want as a market, what keeps our attention in very large numbers, is usually lacking. This game will get mixed reviews, and when the servers are down forums are always going to have people saying very over the top things; count on it!

Personally, from what I see from private forums and my own experience the PVP is not fun or balanced, and the amount of content is very much lacking. Yes, there will be a group who finds exceptions to this. There is also a long public history, well established, about what good user interfaces (UI's) should have, and this game has one of the worst UI's in recent memory. There is some rubber banding still in the game, which means the server is not handling network traffic flow or processing correctly, and it makes your character appear as though it's stuttering. This is one of the coupe of MMO's I have played which actually had a roll back (threw out progress) because of programming issues. That's not a good thing.

I still love the player versus computer controlled environment (PvE) content that's there, and the combat is done pretty well. The game has redeeming qualities, and while I question the value for the price, it's still pretty decent.

Last, some MMO games have a lot more specific user roles when playing, and player interaction and cooperation is required more than this game. Combat in MMO's has been trending toward more first person shooters (FPS) styles, so this aspect isn't unheard of, but it's still not as common. The game also lacks an auction house for exchanging goods for money, selling and so on (these systems often have their own mini game with people buying and reselling to make profit, etc.). This may be by design and the way they want people to work for weapons, or it could have been company budget and time issues, who knows. Even still, this game lacks aspects which are common to many MMO's, so it's not a typical representation of a standard, or traditional MMO, which are normally RPG's.

This is not normal for a modern day MMO release. Maybe if this was 6-8 years ago, yeah. But now? No.

The problems themselves aren't out of the normal. The fact that a month after launch these problems still lack solutions isn't normal. The frequency of the game being taken down also isn't normal (a month after launch that is).

No this many bugs and core issues are not normal, and for every idiot that brings up swotor and WOW, most of the problems those 2 games had was the massive amount of people trying to get in the game, and the servers took a poop, there wasnt this many bugs and core mechanic problems like this game, that's the difference.

    Hey, guys.

Chill out and open topics on what you want to be fixed in priority. We live in Capitalistic democracy , lol just made that 1up , so lets not miss out on this time limited opportunity. Write it lclearly in capital letters without any state of mind and post it. And encourage other players to post under this topic.
I will start xD. IM ASKING GAME DEVELOPERS TO EXTEND THE SHIELD/WEAPON BASED DAMAGE SYSTEM (as i see atm all mobs are vulnerable to all dmge type ) , TO INCLUDE IMUNITY/NOT IMUNE SYSTEM TO IT.a rogue mob or mobs can show up to break up that monotony with ruining the reason why im wearing a specific type of shield. GIVE BLUR A LITTLE MELEE COMBOS, REVIEW SKITTERLINGS GRAPHICS, AND MOST IMPORTANT TO STOP THE XP SKILL BOOST COUNT DOWN WHEN SOMETHING UNSCHEDULE OCCUR. FIX THE DARK MATTER TROOPS EGO ANIMATION ISSUE, as 4 the dark matter monitor who stay crouched behind his shield after i sneak passed on his back. ENEMIES THAT SLIDE IN ANOTHER DIMENSION WHERE I CAN'T FOLLOW THEM.I ve seen once a monarch throw a 3 prounged attack of toxic bolts at me i was very happy, COULD YOU MAKE IT HAPPENED MORE OFTEN? the green and brown of the hills in during daylight are weird. I'd like to be able to skip cinematics too. Focus on improving the dynamic events little rescue missions(bugs spawn spot...) for after main quest and ark fall thats what we've got for pve.

On the other hand CONGRATULATIONS FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE SO FAR for what you done so far, the graphics are awsomse even when im zooming I'm longing to see whats next. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

    Regards to all.

It is also out of the norm for an mmo to be released on 3 separate platforms. WAR(Wahammer Online) was the last major title i played exclusively up until last fall. Servers were brought down quite frequently, if not more frequently than defaince post launch, and we always seemed to unintentionally crash the server during fort sieges. If i recall this was pretty common the first 3 months or longer.. and that game was exclusively for pc, they didnt have to deal with problems on 2 other consoles.

That said, i will be the first one to chime in on being unhappy with Defiance`s current lack of difficulty and the lack of content and character progression, i will still call bullsh!# on all those posting in the forums saying how, in general, most other mmo`s launches and first few months were any better.

I just spent about two years playing Runes of Magic on and off.
Let me tell you there are some things in that game that have been broken for years and still not fixed.
So using that as a guide TRION still have some time left.
