sometimes, but not in the case of gamestop. because employee discounts are almost non existent and becaus they can only check out used games you have as much of a chance of a gamestop employee forming his opinion on the game based on an ign review as you do finding someone who actually played through all the story and side missions. maybe more of a chance.
So is that the translation from japanese or just the show translation...
Seeing as I am an employee for a video game retailer, and I'm willing to admit it and take criticism over it if someone doesn't like that, I don't think it's hard to find valuable people that know what they're talking about. In this case, yes, I'd say the employee probably doesn't like these kinds of games or hasn't tried it themselves. I love Defiance and I tell people about it all the time, it's a fantastic game with a lot of stuff to do. When the servers go down it sucks to deal with but it's not the end of the world.
Just to be fair, my opinion is my opinion and not that of any retailers or their affiliates. <Like my disclaimer?![]()
be very, very careful. one of the store managers in my district was fired for posting on his facebook "damn what a crazy day at work. why do they insist in overloading us with this much paperwork during the holidays?". reason? representing the company in an online capacity without prior permission.
My boss at gamestop also tells ppl "o thats game sucks ign gave it a 5.5" and i just tell him to **** off and play it before you put in your two cents in.
when I was younger, I was actually DENIED employment at a Gamestop, the reason given was that I was too much of a gamer. they didn't want to hire actual gamers because they were concerned that they would spend their time playing games and not working, or whatever.
I found it utterly ridiculous.
