I agree with Val on his statement about disruptors they seem to have very little place in my inventory, let alone in my avatars hands... They really just don't cut it for any combat situation in the badlands.

I used a fully moded SAW for the early portion of my career, ended up ditching it when I found an assault rifle I liked. Regretted the decision, as I had become use to the sustained fire I could put out with the weapon. Combine that with Overcharge to avoid reloads and I could keep a very steady amount of damage flying at the enemy. I have since stumbled upon a Thuinder (I think it is) LMG that I got from a lock box and has the interesting effect of becoming more accurate as I fire it. So, although it does less damage per shot than a SAW or even my assault rifle, the large clip and insane accuracy more than make up for it.
Basically, my point is that the SAW is my favourite because it is a reliable gun that I now have fond memories of. My current LMG is my favourite because its rate of fire and accuracy are a vicious combonation. The Rocker (that is the burst fire one, yes?) is my favourite because it is a pin point damage dealing beast with a huge amma capacity. Frankly, I don't have time to stop shooting. I'm too busy being the hero.
The saw is great.
The trick is for single opponents use the targetting but leave it at no scope attached. Then fire short 5-6 rounds burst. Recenter and repeat. It'll quickly take down almost anything.
For mobs (such as a load of skitterlings)......strafe while firing a little low. Also while strafing your movement.....adjust to strafe your targeting left and right while you keep correcting to center. Try to rely more on movement strafing than targetting strafing. It seems to help keep the gun from jumping around from recoil as much. Also if possible try staying crouched unless you need a lot of freedom of movement.
It really is the only LMG I liked. Especially since it's good even unmodded.
I buy 4-6 at a time and swap them out whenever the exp is full and strip down the old one for resources. Then when I hit 2 left I restock back to 6 total. I've found that gun really levels up fast.
I've tried them all. Here's my two cents:
VOT Disruptor:
They look awesome, but the reload is horrid. They are definitely accurate, but the low fire-rate burst just makes this a slow version of the EMC Rocker.
EMC Rocker:
Accurate and pretty good sustained burst fire, but not as accurate as the burst on a Disruptor. Slow reload. I used one for a good hour before I decided to toss it.
VBI LM-43 Thunder:
The virtual no recoil, higher fire-rate seems to make up for low damage output, which is higher than the Disruptor, but lower than the FRC Saw and EMC Rocker. It's accurate to boot, even at long ranges. I started using one of these this morning and, although I miss the damage output on the FRC Saw, I'm starting to prefer this one more. That and fully modding this one puts a mini-gun like barrel at the front that, on my screen, appears to actually rotate. Very stylish in my own opinion.
FRC Saw:
For obvious reasons, the high damage output makes this the LMG of choice, but I thought the same thing about using Fully Automatic ARs over the three round burst models. Higher numbers doesn't always mean the better gun. I prefer speed/output over topping damage meters.
All in all, it comes down to your style of play, but I would recommend giving the Thunder a try. Have fun!
I've got a fever...and the only prescription is...more cowbell!

I love my SAW and run that and a sniper usually, or sniper shotgun, either way, bloom is how big your crosshairs will get when firing, and fall off is how much dmg you will do at certain ranges

Saw is the best. EMC LMG is okay I guess...LMG's need some sound effect beefing and so do other guns.
PS: AR's sound like pop guns-non elemental ones/SMGs too.
I prefer the LM-43 Thunder. The damage output is slightly lower than the SAW but the accuracy with sustained fire is excellent. I really like it. It looks shtako when you put any barrel mod on it, but nothing is perfect. And I miss the custom texture, the Rocker is waaaay better textured. :-S
I tried the Disruptor, Thunder and Rocker.
Seriously underpowered and/or small mags and bad pattern.
The SAW is still my primary.
The nuke CS-X is my backup only because I can't find a syphon CS-X.
I carry an electric SAW for scrappers and a syphon SAW for bugs and raiders.
SAW's have waaaay too much recoil. Stand right in front of an enemy and watch how many shots you miss while hipfiring. Ridiculous. When I'm aiming in, I always have to let go of L1 for a sec to reset the recoil because shooting for a long time usually leads to you almost every shot going off target.
