I have noticed when I have "shopped" at the local shops in the bottom line it will show how much scrip plus some type of relic/device? Where do you find the needed relic/devices?

I have learned that the Bits are bought with real money but, what about the other currencies?

Dude I'm ego 1k+ and I still haven't figured that out.

I have the symbols, enough to buy lots of stuff, but I have no a clue as how the eff they got in my posession.

If you are talking about the keycode symbol then those buy lockboxes. It says ?/75 with a symbol next to it.

Your prob looking at the currency of your current Rep for each faction. Top Notch, VBI, Paradise, and there are 2 others. Every time you finish a contract with that said faction, you get rep points which is used to buy stuff from there respective vendors.

When a the supply vehicle click on an item and it will show how much of scrips and some other symbol next to it. I have found at least 4 different symbols or relic/device vendors.

Yup rep vendors.

Yeah. Those are Rep. You earn them by completing contracts from the various venders/organizations around Paradise. Although, you don't start getting contracts available until....EGO 175 (I think they lowered it from 250)

Once you earn REP in those factions, you spend it like any other currency.

NOTE: Spending REP does not lower your status with that group. (For anyone wondering)

Where do you find the contracts? Or are those the side missions?
