Flop? or Not?

So after a MONTH and the game being still unstable and still in BETA... (call me a troll if you want just because I disagree with fanboys doesnt make me a troll) thank you very much...but yea...
Considering I sold my game 2 weeks ago, I will still rebuy the game once it pulls the thumb out of its *** and actually is A MMO...and WORKS.
I havnt been here for the past 2 weeks...Whats been going on? Have they came out with any new content yet? AND NO, PURSUITS DO NOT COUNT.
And the big question of them all....AFTER A MONTH, Is this game a FLOP? & Explain in a brief paragraph

I will say NOT! Reason being, You can still play it, Yes it has lacked what should be in the game but Trion are working hard at getting these updates to us, Since day one the servers have been coming down and they have been improving them ect.... Now they will face other issues, some are more important than others. Also not to sure if you read the Community Blogs but the content is coming after the live issues are fixed. Lets say 15,000 Report a new Bug daily, that would then be a problem growing, another fix before the content and so on. Trion is one company i can say is doing what they can and showing they are to get things done since day 1. Not many dev's who will try to fix there game tbh most just want the money and run.... (My personal opinion)

I enjoy the game regardless if it is lacking some of what we should have

Huh.. what?.. I love this game.. Can only get better from this point.. So.. if I'm loving it already with a few minor aggravations.. I can only imagine what it will be like in the long run.

Also they just got approved for a second season for the show.

i think it's too soon to say it's a huge flop and will kill trion, if nothing else because of the amount of people who still seem to enjoy it. rationally, i think you would have to give it more time before that could be said truthfully. however, i think that it is safe to say that, for many, it has been something of a disappointment, and i think the devs are probably surprised by the amount of negative feedback and the amount of people giving up on it. i will say from my end, that i very much enjoy the concept, but i think what i and others perceive as the lack of execution, rushed release date to co-incide with the tv and the lack of any seeming correlation between the 2 worlds, no ability to track weapons and gear, hackers and very mediocre customer support, and shallow/repetitive content are very much hurting our confidence in the development team. if i was holding a magic 8 ball right now, i imagine it would say "outlook not so good".

this is only my opinion though

anything that has a good launch on sifi gets a second season because they are trying to make another stargate.... defiance will not be that next stargate... a good chunk of the shows fan base is the gamers, and the majority of people who play this game are disgruntled... the show itself doesnt even coincide with the game... its a massive mistake to ever have licensed this ****

it shoulda been a stand alone game with a stand alone concept instead of this and the show trying to piggyback off one another, because if one fails, the other will fail just as hard... and seeing where this game is headed... the future is grim for them both

Too soon to say. I'm not sure how this business model works in terms of MMO's as I haven't seen it in practice before. For me, it's a big NOT. I love the game and the show now. I've unsubbed from an MMO I've been playing for several years now to play this exclusively and I can't get enough of it.

If one goes off what the forums say it's a flop, but that's a very poor indicator. The vast majority of players don't even use the forums, or atleast don't post. The vocal ones are the people who are disappointed with the game.

i don't think i'm overtly pessimistic, more rationally so and i guess it boils down more to personal disappointment based off of expectations and also, some objective critique of the game. but i definitely admit that expectations can be tricky things, and a lot closer to assumptions than we'd like to admit...i actually hope to be proven wrong, but i would be lying if i said i was very confident right now.
