Yes it is, but he's talking about landscape, not content. Content is allowed to be a timesink you dufus.

By the way.. Your signature is totally dumb. This isn't a P2P MMO, so the idea IS we can return when we like to have fun. Why do you think they're releasing DLC's and not content patches? Gaaaahd you wreak of idiocy.

    Sprinting.
My bad, i should have asked you if my sig made sence to you, since thats what i was shooting for..Gaaahh your an idiot!!

Im fully aware what he was talking about, but doesnt the logic match?

Edit: your not an idiot, but i dont mind being one
Careful, you might loose this fight, Anne Frankly why does everybody have to bring up the Nazis?

    As quoted by Justin CarMicheal

That's the thing-- they have the right philosophy, but they implemented it so poorly players can't see it. So they ask for other genres to get copy/pasted over.

As I recall you had to actually go to these flight people and then they would take you somewhere else, defiance you just click the fast travel you want to go to regardless of where you are.
When running is all you have, it is slow, and that's all you had a wow launch
At WoW launch you got your first mount at level 40. Which was about 1/2 way through the leveling process. Acting like the idea of a vehicle to allow you to move faster is some amazing thing that nobody else has because they want their world to seem larger is just silly.

That said I remember getting my mount at level 40 and being impressed with the idea. DAOC never gave you something like that at launch. If you wanted to get somewhere faster after the flight paths ((which were horse paths no flying)) you had to find one of the speed classes from your realm to join your group and use them as a taxi.

Having speed available for everybody at a set level seemed pretty amazing.

I'd be perfectly fine with it if they manage to layer enough content on it to merit a complete game in the box. They have not, as the difficulty of the hardest enemy tier in the game (Dark Matter) is absolutely laughable once you **** around with them for an hour or so.

The lack of difficulty in all co-op missions is absolutely ludicrous if they want to call themselves an MMO or a TPS. They are tutorial-level, at best.
    There's 5 areas buddy Mt. Tam=Mutants/Hellbugs Madera=Raiders/Hellbugs Marin=99ers/Hellbugs Sausalito=99ers/Raiders/Hellbugs San Fran=Dark Matter/Scrapper.

If you want to talk about copy paste wow and other mmos are pretty much king of that just because theres not much variety at launch like most mmos doesnt mean we wont get more variety as the map opens.

From aesthetic reasons, no. There are three areas: Mount Tam, The Middle, and San Francisco. The Middle isn't visually distinct enough to break it into legitimate sub-zones, even if some of the structures are a little different. And they paste a few different enemies around.

The Middle is the epitome of copy/paste terrain. Most likely due to streaming limitations on the consoles.

Is telling people how much you think Defiance/TRION will die all you do on this forum? I remember you from all my other threads.
I've never once said that Defiance will kill Trion or that Trion will "die". To be honest I never even heard if Trion before I bought this game. Like I said I like the game but I also realize that there's a lot of problems with it and I've been very frustrated by fact that myself, and many others, keep hearing big talk about how this game will have the bugs ironed out but I'm just not seeing any action. I'd really like for this game to succeed, after all I only buy 2 or 3 games brand new a year and this was one of them. I wish I had you're optimism but I don't. This post asked a simple question: flop or not? I wish it were otherwise but right now I see a flop.

I read what he said. He's wrong. The Middle is one zone, and a few unique structures doesn't save the same color palette used on the terrain or the overuse of smaller duplicated structures. Farms are an excellent example of overuse from the north to the south.

Thus, copy-pasted terrain. There are a total of three zones, with one of those zones broken into sub-zones.

Yeah exactly, halfway through the leveling process you finally get a mount, up to that point your using a snails pace walk/run while traveling across pointless landscape that artificially inflates the size of the game in order to waste peoples time because it was pay to play.

So yeah I guess I am silly, because I do find it amazing that I could quickly travel right from the start of this game instead of having to wait until my EGO hit 2500.

Final comment then im done with this thread. Seems to be a lot of people who do nothing but complain about the game, just leave. Whats the point, like the guy with 325 posts and his signature is dedicated to bashing the game...lol what? Everyone likes to say how great WoW is...guess what? WoW is still around! You can go play it right now!! But that's right, obviously you found something wrong with WoW because you started playing defiance....lol...your all trolls with to much time on your hands.

it shoulda been a stand alone game with a stand alone concept instead of this and the show trying to piggyback off one another, because if one fails, the other will fail just as hard... and seeing where this game is headed... the future is grim for them both
But, even Stargate Universe wasn't the next Stargate. Writers these days focus too much on individual characters and all this "emotions" crap. They need to go back to the good ol' days of blowing up evil aliens and/or robots!

And actually the majority of the fanbase is not gamers. At least, in my experience. I'm the only person I know IRL that is playing the game, but I know a ton of people that watch the show. The show has already been picked up for a second season, btw.

Worst case scenario - the game flops but the show keeps going. Which is why their stories have nothing to do with each other, so they're not dependent on each other. The game will turn around though, it's just a pretty rough launch. They had to rush it for the premiere of the show. Sh*t happens.

Considering the cost of the game, I very much look forward to its relaunch to coincide with season 2 of the show. Which, while in production, is not in filming-- and can be dropped at any time.
