The controls on the PC are an absolute mess. Game design leaves nothing for cooperative play, long term play, or any sort of competitive/organized play. There are no substantive rewards for anything you do. No economy. No player economy. The game world is devoid of any character or impressive locales. Lack of character customization whether it's visual or gameplay related.

I could go on about just everything in the game. It's the most generic, shallow, and unrewarding mmo I've played to date. Then there are the bugs which wipe rewards and progression.

A better question would be: What does Defiance do well? If there are any legit answers they will be short.
Game design leaves nothing for cooperative play? Quest progress is shared to all in the area. You can enter dungeons with other players wherever you are in the world by the click of a button. There's area/group/clan voice chat.

There's no substantive rewards? What about legendaries with their synergy rewards mods and fully levelled bonus from lockboxes after farming a bunch of Arkfalls?

    Your right about the economy.

The game world is devoid of any character of impressive locales- A matter of opinion, not fact. The world and lore has a tv series set in it, both having a myriad of different characters from different backgrounds. Missions are fully voice acted by awesome characters and add real context to what other MMO's would have you collected 10 bear ***** for no real reason. I and many others (there's a thread on this forum of peoples favourites) can list many impressive locales.

How is there a lack of character customization? There's hundreds of vehicles, outfits and the character creation tool is more complex than many other popular MMO's.

I don't think it's as bad as you haters make it out to be. At all, in fact. If you don't like the game then that's your choice. I wish you'd all stop telling us not to like the game either. You're all forcing your negative opinions down our throats and calling us fanboys for not agreeing. Can't we enjoy the game? Is that so hard to comprehend for some?

Geez charm nothing but negative from you and the other doomsayers move on already. Oh wait you did and still see the need to whine on the forums of a game you hate people like you baffle me if I don't like a game I just don't go to the forums. Whats funnier is you sold it only to say you'll buy it again later which means your spending even more to pick it up again yet you hate the game lovely lol

i think that may be a bit of a stretch. there are some options, sure, but hundreds of different vehicles? i've noticed 4 or 5 different vehicles with 5-20 different color schemes and a handful of outfits, most of which have 2 or 3 different colors as their "variety".

i'm not saying there isn't any customization, but i think hundreds of options is a stretch

I wish they'd get off this forum already too, they'll get bored eventually.

I do count the colour varieties myself. You may not, but it's something different to what the guy next to you is wearing/driving atleast.

    LOL

It's far less impressive than most of the mainstream games available today. In fact, it's less impressive than WoW, which is ancient by gaming standards.

Which 'popular' MMO's would you be referring to, that you think Defiance exceeds in complexity?

Unfortunate timing on my previous post saying I agree with WhiteCell, I don`t agree with his later comment at all.

    What does Defiance do well?
    -classic 3rd pers shooting
    -beautiful setting
-more unique landmarks than most games of that size
    -music by Bear McCreary
-Storyline complete with cutscenes, longer than some single player only games
    -blablabla

Meh, in the end it`s a matter of taste, like it or not, I don`t care.
Spending vast amounts of your time on a forum for a game you don`t like is....kinda pointless though, to put it mildly.

Considering I sold my game 2 weeks ago, I will still rebuy the game once it pulls the thumb out of its *** and actually is A MMO...and WORKS.
I havnt been here for the past 2 weeks...Whats been going on? Have they came out with any new content yet? AND NO, PURSUITS DO NOT COUNT.
And the big question of them all....AFTER A MONTH, Is this game a FLOP? & Explain in a brief paragraph
    Brief? Ok..

You still come on to these forums, post a thread 2 weeks later and then ask the general public whether Defiance is a 'Flop or Not'.

That's some amazing use of Logic right there.

    /thread

Have you got the gonads to own the Nomad?

Bugs, Yes. Size? No. WoW was packed full of content and you could level from start to finish via question + doing each dungeon. I would say that space wise WoW was at least 10 times the total space we have in Defiance and that's being VERY generous to Defiance.

Exactly, WoW. Why do you disagree? You think WoW's character creation is more complex than Defiance's haha? *clicks through six different face textures using little arrows* *Adds a beard* DONE! XD

Flop or not. Trion has managed to tarnish their reputation that they've managed to build up through Rift with this marketing joke of a game. I sure as hell don't have any interest in any of their future titles anymore. I had a chance to try out Warface too and that FPS couldn't be any more uninspired and generic. Trion's done and they're going to end up relying on a "Free to play" scheme to make a profit just like most lazy developers do these days.

Consider this an early "adieu" from me.
