I didn't claim intimate knowledge simply experience upon being a consumer of their fine products. Why is a person experiencing technical issues in five prior game launches including World of warcraft, guild wars, diablo 2, Starwars old republic, and Final fantasy so unbelievable? We all played them and I got to enjoy them all, and they all impressed me beyond belief at times. Yes they were all boring at times too, infact I can honestly say I hate a few of them now. But I am experiencing no worse service or bugs then I did in any of those fine titles, not to mention the script for diablo 2 is laughable compared to what is out now and it was still almost unplayable for almost 3 months on line, and was patched and repaired consistently for years.

We are all very particular and different and other then a game being completely unplayable a person could love a game that another has though was worthless.
All of my business experience is in mass media. Television and feature films in the past, and game (non-electronic) publishing now. My RPGs are published internationally. There is also a lot of cross pollination between the people who buy our products, and the video game industry. Most table-top RPG players are avid video gamers. Additionally, several of my fellow publishers (with whom I am friends) work in the video game industry.

Some of those people I have solid relationships with are: Chris Pramas, the former creative director for Flying Labs Software and their Pirates of the Burning Sea MMO. Shane Hensley, former developer on City of Villains, former Executive Producer on Neverwinter (left when Atari sold Cryptic), and currently with Petroglyph and did work on Trion's End of Nations game. Shane also owned the company, before the economic downturn of 2008 and its closure, that held the license to create the Stargate MMO. And Sean Fish, former developer on City of Heroes.

So, I am also somewhat familiar with the game industry, the work that goes into these games, the issues that arise and their complexity, and (far too often) the inefficient management teams that get in the way more than they effectively run the operations.

And yes, sadly, I do have knowledge of advanced programming (though I would wager my knowledge is a bit outdated by 2013). There's a reason I won't do it for a living, however. Freud would blame my father.

"Technical issues" are to be expected with any large launch. Character data corruption and lost progress, however, are indefensible in any game -- online or offline, but especially online -- that has ever released.

A new set of extremely challenging dungeons would be nice. Ones where the team can ACTUALLY fail. Tired of playing co ops where everyone but me dies on the easiest of all boss rooms, scrapworks salvage. And.I am tired of running around picking ppl up because they don't know how to not die every few seconds.
Just leave'em on the floor and do the instance solo. Trion, set the co-ops to allow macho man here to solo the co-ops because he is bored having to rez team mates. ROFLMAO!

Did it ever occur to you impart your wisdom on your fellow players?

Global Agenda actually did that, and it was awesome. The assault (think warrior) class was a ***** to run things solo. Solo missions in that game easily approached raid-level difficulty.

I've heard you say this quite a bit, and I've been thinking about it.

I don't think this is a game that necessarily should be or was intended to be super challenging.

I think this game is a "shooter" in the same sense that GTA or the various knock offs are. And those games weren't super hard because that wasn't really the point. The shooter aspect was there so you have a way to make fights entertaining because you have to have some sort of combat in a game to keep it interesting.

But the shooter part was ultimately secondary to the exploration aspect of an open world. The ability to go around and mess with stuff at your own pace.

Say what you wish, it does not change my experience. I will leave my opinion at that, I do not begrudge any of you for what you think just please do not make other gamers who are willing to stick it out deal with the endless complaints. If you do not like the game, leave If not don't. It really is that simple. Good day, and happy gaming.

In other words if you don't agree with me then you have no right to your opinion?

Pretty much the entire game industry is not up to the task, it seems commonplace to release unfinished / broken products then take an age to fix them (if they get fixed at all), the game industry is a joke, no wonder the pay is so crappy.
