I'm pretty much right behind you. It's a shame though, I really enjoyed the twitch, weapon aim combat, over the usual tab-target and "whack-o-mole" hot button system, we've had since '04.

Now if you could get NCSoft to retool GW2, so that your ranged weapons worked like they did in defiance, then that would be fantabulous. However, I doubt that will ever happen.

PLEASE tell me a game that is actually hard these days....Bioshock with ifinite respawns? A game that checkpoints every 30 sec? Please....

ONE game was actually hard in the past while and thats Darksouls/Demonsouls (best game in like 5 years) so a game being easy cant really be a complaint...

I will admit they could have some more challenge yes, but so could 90% of games today people.

(Sorry, nothing else to add. As a casual gamer I'm taking my time through the story missions.)

I honestly agree with that. I think dying in Defiance should have more of a negative than a minor inconvience. But I believe that to be true in most games, MMOs in general don't really have any death penalties anymore. Only indie games seem to.

actually chat isn't broken... it works quite fine now that they seperated it from the voice. and chat only affects one third the possible population.. the PC user. Now, the voice coms are still garbage. they have gotten slightly better, but still rubbish. easier to play with them off. and with it being a known issue in beta, and t+1month it's still rubbish, is bad news.

Try EVE Online in 0.0 sector

Now i get it, why most games, and especially mmorpgs aren't that hard, and i understand, but the thing is, there is a reason why the games aren't that hard nowadays, because you do not need any games to be extra hard.

Back then, you had early games like Pac-Man where you needed the game to be extremely hard, in order for you to be able to spend a lot of time trying to beat it, and to get a good highscore.

These days, games are the other way around, they offer a lot of content, making you being able to focus on the storyline, the environment, and things you have to do inside of them, and not the difficulty itself.

Now release an online game that is lacking both?
    Ouch....

No time to ride the line!

For a modern day MMO I'd like to think the chat is broken rather than the possibility that Trion as a company thought that what we has was a good idea.

Not anymore. Comcast got government approval in January 2013 to buy out the 49%.

The deal started in February 2013, and concluded in March 2013, making Comcast the sole owner.

And it is true that Trion is not owned, even in part, by Comcast/NBCUniversal, but they are investors, same as Time Warner, DMC, and others (http://www.silicontap.com/trion_worl...s-0017533.html). Which means, they do have a voice, especially in any sort of venture capital investment (I know, I'd dealt with such things in the past when I co-owned a wrestling promotion and raised such capital from 1996-2001).

They are still going to have to turn a profit on their $80m game. Investors are unlikely to wait years for it, as EA can attest to with SWTOR and investors. Yes, MMOs can sometimes take time. The reality is, however, that your investors and venture capitalists are not interested in that time.

If they truly spent 80 mill on this game; man did they get ripped off.
