Can you code? You may have the ideas for them to implement but damn... its easier said then done. Sure the game should still be in beta and things could have been released better but they're fcking trying their hardest to appeal to the player.

Sorry but you and everyone else that flames devs want sh** spoon fed to them and its so damn pathetic, get your head outa your ***; let them do their job and support them for what they are doing or walk.
All i want is the damn names above players to show up. That is the thing that drove me away. Because to me it's just a lame single player game without the names. I can't call this a mmo. I have no clue why they haven't fixed it yet. Since this little bug would be very easy to fix.

Now accuse me why i take out my anger on a table. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻. Yet another table has been sacrificed to the god of table flipping. Trion another table haves there life ended. Will you stand by and not fix the names? while countless tables are murdered. lolz

Back on the original topic, Several guilds I have known from other games have already moved on, this cant be a ringing endorsement for the current state of this game.

That burden is purely on the company, and it is their responsibility to do it as quickly as possible once they have agreed to accept payment for the product.

Unfortunately, this section of Trion is not up to the task. Their huge patch continued to leave major bugs in the game and caused yet other issues. Not long thereafter, they suffered a major character database issue that required nearly 8 hours of downtime and then a rollback. Today they released a patch, then suffered nearly 7 hours of downtime afterward across the entire North American server farm, and then once again removed a PvP map they just put back into the game the very same day--- a map, mind you, that they originally removed pre-game-launch for having issues, and therefore still did not manage to fix successfully in over the past month.

It isn't Defiance, itself, that is a bad game, it is the development team that is obviously not up to the task of running such a product. At this point, the upper management at Trion really needs to take a look at where the issues within the team lie, and make some necessary changes.
I do agree the ball was dropped some place however from what I have seen, it is not on the development side so much as the ones who forced a good game that was not nearly ready to be released into early availability. Also there is another thing to note that being a business owner is all well and good but if you have no experience in tele-communications, mass media, or advanced programing then it is hard to have a strong opinion, not trying to imply such knowledge, lastly the gaming community is not a typical buying market at all. We are all very particular and different and other then a game being completely unplayable a person could love a game that another has though was worthless.

I don't imagine the gaming market is all that different from the novel market, though, and the novel market has concepts such as the author-reader (writer-reader) contract.

Which this game, incidentally, ****s all over.

In your opinion I am sure. I however as some one who has gone through over 5 mmo launchs see nothing out of the norm at all except maybe the chat function.you can't address peoples ability to talk before you work on the ability to play

Actually, The Secret World's chat was bugged for about a week at launch. While people couldn't chat, the game was solid (and challenging) enough to hold people's attention even though they couldn't talk with each other.

While people did complain, it was more of a social complaint-- not a gameplay design complaint. The gameplay design issues (with everything being an "easy" tier of difficulty) are much more damning than even the social complaints, as what's the point in talking in a game not worth playing beyond a "toy" level.

The writer-reader contract is interesting, and it may end up forming an entire thread. It actually describes Defiance's problems perfectly.

That fruit was too easy to grab. I rather go for the more challenging stuff at the top.
