The best sources I can find say Trion spent $30 Million on developing the game and that NBC Uni/SyFy matched that for the game, so $60 Million for the game.

Now, you can say, "60 or 105, I don't CARE! It's still too much for what we've seen so far!!!". My response would be is we don't know how much content they already have completed and are waiting to roll out when the show episodes calls for it and when the base infrastructure of the servers/code is ready for it.

So, two points, it wasn't $105 Million and we don't know how much of that they have alredy spent or how much game they have already created.
While any of those numbers are ludicrous to me, "no spoilers" or "we got super swell stuff coming" can only carry the community team so far. There are ways to announce upcoming content without spoiling said content.

Neither excuse (yes, they are excuses) justifies a half-empty box with an IOU hastily scribbled inside.

I use to be like you 20+ years ago, but getting older makes you realize there's more to life. Make your posts, just adjust the way you make them, give a good rundown of the bugs you find in a polite manner and never talk about things that are clearly nothing to do with playing a game, i.e. the amount you pay for a game is your choice, what the firm earns through building a game is nothing to do with us and doesn't effect the game in anyway and calling a firm is just plain old childish. Be polite and encourage decent posting and you'll be better thought of.....And lastly don't take gaming so seriously as it will effect your social life in many ways.

    At present, they have not.

Why do "hardcore" people play MMOs at launch?

I see the exact same complaints in every MMO forum not long after launch, always by the hardcores who have burned through the game and put in thousands of hours.

    You'd think they would learn?

Unfortunately, the players complaining haven't put thousands of hours into the game. There isn't enough game to put that much time into, which is why we started seeing these complaints mere days after launch instead. Those people have already left.

We continue to see these complaints since more players are reaching the mindless grind cap of around 1500, and things haven't changed within that month after launch. This will continue, if not get worse, until the game's design is completed.

We need the punchline, and they haven't given it to us yet. "Drive around aimlessly for 5000 ego... here's a few trivial quests, everything's easy" gets exceedingly old obscenely fast.

Hardcore and Casual in reference to gamers gets thrown around way to commonly and often out of context... The "hardcore" players you are referring to are nothing more than game jumpers. They will do it to every game they come across. They play it til the point they get burnt out, blame it on the game/devs and then move onto the next game until the cycle repeats itself.

There will never be enough content for these types of people ever. While some games actually suffer from lack of content.. that only makes it worse for these types of people.

"Content" is also relative to the player and you can't please everyone no matter how hard you try. Some people consider pursuits content.. some people do not... etc...

Could the game use more content? Sure, but I believe it is coming and I personally still have plenty of other things left to do such as pursuits and the weekly episode missions...

To finish; I believe the "hardcore" players that you described will leave no matter what. They are already looking for the next thing. They'll be back though when more "fresh" content arrives.. Then they'll be gone again..
Life is a dream but fading away...

I don't understand why people feel the need to grind in this game... Why is everyone so concerned about hitting level cap? No one said you had to grind.. Just play.. don't worry about it so much.. it will build up..

Yes the gear is better at 5000.. but I'm doing just fine now.. It's not such a drastic difference as say a level 1 compared to max level in your typical MMORPG.

This isn't RO. Save your mind, stop grinding and doing repetitive things to get easy xp.. Pretty sure I'd get bored too if I played it that way..

Because I like to play the game as a guilty pleasure, and mindless wandering is quite literally all there is to do after a certain ego rating. Gear has nothing to do with it. It took me nearly a month to reach this point, whereas I shrugged off the complaints about the same issue I saw within the first. "Because Trion will surely add more."

Everything is just as easy as it was at 300 ego, instanced or not. No raison d'etre for this to be massive, let alone multiplayer.

After a few dozen arkfalls, they lose their luster. You'll wish you could solo them instead, just for some sort of challenge.

The easiest comparison I can make is playing through a TPS for the second time stuck on an "easy" difficulty setting, with no option to raise it.
