New Xbox

so I assume most of you have seen the announcment about new xbox set for 21st May.

I know they will still support this xbox but do you think Trion made an error in releasing early and getting stuck on this console, they may make the new xbox backward comp but why would you want to play something designed for an older machine.

I for one will be waiting awhile for xbox to get most of the bugs out of the next gen before I purchase it if I do at all.

would you be willing if you purchased a next gen console to try and play online with older xbox if possible.

The design and specs are being released on the 21st, however the console won't launch for quite some time after that. And with the game/show release around the same time, that would mean that SyFy would have had to delay the premier of the show as well. I'm sure that when they went into production for both game and show, that devs hadn't quite gotten what they need to design a game for a new console.

Which would leave Defiance competing with all of the November and holiday season launch games. As good as this game is, I don't think it would fare well with people deciding with the newest CoD DLC they call a new game, BF, Madden. The set franchises that are for sure money makers. It was smart for this game to have a Spring release.

I'm pretty sure the "NeXtBox" will play used games. I mean "rented" games are used why would they cut off all of those people who buy maybe one or two titles a year but rent 50?

I'll be pre-ordering the new system. I'll still have my 360 hooked up becsause i'm sure most of the guys on my XBL friend list won't all get getting the new console at launch.

The new systems will be out in time for the holiday season, that's my guess anyhow. Just because they're announcing in may doesn't mean it's still all a concept. I'm sure when E3 hits in June we'll have a whole list of titles for the Next Gens.

My biggest concern is will I have to make a different Gamertag and deal with all that BS. Also i hope that the # of friends is bumped up to more than 100.

I don't think Trion made a mistake putting out Defiance now. Who knows they could have a "next gen" version in the works for next spring...no one really knows.

If you ask me the gaming industry is stagnant because the XBOX is so old and its had a knock on effect to the PC world too, games on the PC could be far better then what they are, but they're held back by the portability of the xbox's graphics limitations.

Before the ps4 was announced it was heavily rumoured that it was an always online machine, which never came out to be true.

It's been said that the new console will have an always online function, but it will be up to the game developers to implement the "restriction" should they want to. I wouldn't let it worry you because microsft will know fine well how many potential sales will be lost due to an always online console.

Also, hasn't Trion hinted at a next gen defiance?
