dodge high speed challenge: paradise

Well I was going to just start a new thread until I read the posts in here and saw that a lot of them arte problem related…

First off its nice to see a Time Trial race that uses something other than a runner. It would be nice to see some permanent ones added in some day. Wish you guys could have tweaked this thing to make it a lot better though.

Problems I’m noticing and having (Xbox user):

1. The route the track is set up like its for a runner. In other words, there is a lot of it that is off road and over a lot of big jumps. Since when is a roller, especially the Dodge Challenger designed for so much off road use? Following the roads (paved or dirt) and generic grass and small hill areas would have made more sense.

2. Unresponsive controls or badly set up restarts. There have been several times where I do a restart of the run and I’m outside of the car trying to find that very narrow spot where it says “Press X to enter”. By the time I finally get into the damn car I have lost 10 or more seconds easily on the clock. There are other times when I land from a jump, the car just stalls out like the it had air brakes on or something.

3. Finish line junk yard. Why is there so much crap in the way right before the finish line? I’ve gotten stuck on the tires and fence quite a few times now preventing me from even finishing the stupid race. It pissed me off more knowing that I would have barely made the gold ranking on a run before I wrote this but because I landed on a tire and got stuck so again I didn’t even finish.

4. The usual crap in the roads/route because of in game events. It would be so much better if these time trial events were set up like the shooting challenges, in their own set up world where there are no random crap preventing you from doing it or getting in the way. You don’t encounter random hellbugs doing the Bolinas sniper challenge or a bunch of raiders when your killing hellbugs with the minigun at the Hellbug Extermination challenge do you? So why are we running into everything but the kitchen sink on these time trials? It doesn’t help to hear little miss EGO talk about all these random missions like I’m going to do them. Doing these time trials should be fun, not frustrating as hell.

I just tried it again and there is an arkfall event right in the way of one of the rings. What a joke.

Never realized until now that if you buy something that requires rep, you lose the rep it requied. I busted my rear to get gold in the race, bought 2 of the cars, and didn't have enough scrip for the last one.
I got enough, i merrily go to buy the last one, and I don't have sufficient rep. That annoyed me.

I mean, I understand I'll lose Rep Points when buying things with Rep, but Trion didn't make Rep Points and actual Rep seperate! So I was like 290/300 and bought 2 of the 3 cars and saw my overall Rep with Paradise went along with it.

That is absolutly absurd. Trion needs to seperate this. Make overall Rep a steady number that you grind up and have "Rep Points" that can be used to purchase the Faction stuff. Also, letting us know how much Rep each Contract gives us would be a nice addition, too.

i'm not gonna lie. the 1ts day (friday) it took me like 10 tries. i got frustrated becuase the ark fall spawns, random road events making me hit an invisble thing that didn't show up yet, i lieterrallt had a ark fall crystal spawn right in front of me before anyone was at it. i got it like my 10 try. but on saturday and sunday since it reset i got them both on my 1st try w/o any issue.

Might be a bug with Paradise rep.. I don't know since I didn't spend paradise rep.

But I didn't lose rep when I've spend with VBI or Top-Notch.

Also for contracts, weekly is 50, daily is 10.

The vendors are all over the place not just at the location of the challenge.

Go to most any OUTPOST with a fast travel and look around, half of the locations have a new vendor you can purchase 3 colors from.

White... Off White.... and White/Purple. They need some type of daily currency... but I already had over 300 so I bought all three..... still use my ATV /shrug

Anyone found that vendor yet?

Saw that Sledgehammer70 posted "The Paradise vendors have arrived to Defiance." not too long back, but can't find any vehicles on vendors at Paradise.

I found several "Racing Pro" Vendors around the map that has the 3 challengers for sale. They are usually close to the other vendors. One is slightly south of Iron Demon Ranch.

Wait...so you were only supposed to be able to access the Vehicle vendors if you had done the race?

If so LOL, I went and bought myselft a Billet Challenger as soon as I saw the vendor on Day 1 of the challenge. I've never even tried the race...I don't like the races.

The vendors were at every Fast Travel spot for me and I had plenty of Paradise Rep thanks to doing their Weekly & Daily Pursuits.
