The past couple of times,I've gotten a weird sound glitch.....everything will be fine,then something happens and I get a "metallic" sound (that's the best way I can describe it...lol)
The only way to get it to stop is to completely reboot the game from the xmb. I know it's not my PS3,as every other game I play it's perfectly fine...only this game does it.
Has anybody else encountered this?
if by metallic you mean metallica then yes i hear it randomly all the time. but the old metallica, you know the bear chugging metallica, not this new music soft crap.
but lol no i have not heard it, the only sound problem i have is when im at an ark fall once in a while everything will go quite. you can still hear it but its low. it doesn't get louder until after the ark fall is over.

I know what you're talking about...I've had this a bunch of times also. The odd thing is it is just on the surround sound audio...for me the optical output going to my headphones...if I turn up the tv which is getting stereo over HDMI then it still sounds fine (although weak tv speakers it is a normal soundtrack). Once in a while it will fix itself but usually I also have to do a full quit of the game. Tonight doing the stupid Challenger race I had audio just plain cut out completely a few times for a while...maybe that's them "working on it"? lol

The last time I did that however,the sound just cut out all together,but would "beep" every 5-10 seconds,and the only way to get rid of it was to exit out to the xmb.
I love this game,and have a blast playing with friends,but this is getting quite ridiculous,and starting to test my patients.
Since the patch i have been experiencing weird sounds like crackling sounds that is very irratating, i have to turn the sound down, but it stays quiet a while, so i end up having to turn the console off and reboot, it usually starts once i am in an Arkfall fight...so annoying and needs fixing.
I hate playing a game that has to have the sound turned down
I've had the same problem in this game and call if duty. I think it's a ps3 issue.
I have noticed that some peoples can use the voice. I think what you might be getting is someones bad MIC. The other day i was playing and heard a baby crying. I was like really dude stop playing and take care of your child im trying to kill people here...lmao
