You probably aren't aware than series can "jump" in time (e.g, "The Walking Dead" season 2 > 3 is a jump of ~8 months), when games hardly can (eventually a solo 'scenarized' game, but MMO type, nope).

If they choose to place the game in a different location than serie, that's obviously to get some liberty regarding storyline.

If you rush Defiance story, it's probably one of the worst ratio (time used / story time) ever created in the last decade in video games. Current content doesn't worth 50€, so if they count to DLC the story, don't count me in for the next part of that game.

That wasn't the Main Story. The was the Episode Story, huge difference. The Episode Story was a part of the weekly transmedia thing, and has already been removed from the game. It was removed on April 15th, several hours before the Pilot actually aired. Each transmedia event/mission/pursuit is removed as the next television episode airs.

The Main Mission is working for Von Bach, going after his lost Arktech, heading to San Fran, and facing Nim at the end. The Main Mission has absolutely no bearing on the show.

The OP has received the Hero of Paradise title. He completed the Main Missions and defeated Nim. Completely, 100% unrelated to the temporary 4-mission arc they had in (called the Episode Missions, even within the game) that guest starred Nolan and Irissa.

The characters are in it in the beginning and then they leave. That's the end of the show/game crossover. So yeah, the stories are completely separate now. It has nothing to do with timelines/canons.

They can add more story to the game that has nothing to do with the show at all. And the Main Missions in the game do not include Nolan and Irisa or the crystal, those were the Episode Missions which are no longer in the game.

We'll probably see more Main Missions in future DLC. We'll be lucky if we see more Episode Missions instead of these lame Pursuits. Trion has said that they wanted their DLC "Season" to be less than 1 year, so we should have all 5 of the DLCs in less than 1 year, but they have also said that they keep pushing the first one back to fix things. So it could take more than one year for them all to release, but we should definitely have all the DLCs out before the second season of the TV show ever premieres.

season 2: Wrath of Von Bot!

the important question is, will we have a between seasons content patch to bridge whatever length of time is supposed to transpire between season 1 and 2 on the show?

Apparently, you don't understand that the project is jointly funded. Syfy didn't spend $100 million plus of their own money. Trion also invested financially-- in the development of the game. The project as a whole was over $100 million, which includes the cost of the show and the $15 million in marketing.

Syfy and Trion split the cost of the game as stated here http://thecontentlab.icrossing.com/p...telling-gamble and also this article which breaks down the costs by each party:http://www.adweek.com/news/advertisi...eo-game-147622

"Still, $105 million is the rough budget for the project, which includes a staggering $40 million for the TV series alone (for perspective, HBO, the gold standard for expensive TV, shelled out $60 million on Game of Thrones' first season). The balance pays for the $50 million it cost to make the video game, developed with software company Trion Worlds, which shares the financial burden (NBCU owns half of the game with Trion), and the show's huge marketing budget—upwards of $15 million."

Articles should stop headlining that Syfy bet $100+ million, as Syfy did not do it alone.

Here, the show's head (i.e. Showrunner) even talks about how the two are separate as far as story: http://www.deadline.com/2013/01/defi...april-15-syfy/ and here from the Executive Producer of the game at Trion (as especially noted in the paragraph below the second picture): http://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/sci...ance-game.html

And here, in an April 9th article, they really explain the cross-over as something they really hope to do in the future: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/04/...#disqus_thread

Regarding DLC, the season passes and future missions.
My feeling is that the DLC we have purchased will come in the form of items in the game. Not in the form of new storyline. New story line requires a lot more work on behalf of Trion and I really don't see them giving it to people on season passes. The average for DLC is around $14 (thats for storyline DLC in other games). Why give season pass holders the new storyline content when you can just give a total of 5 items in the game, call them DLC and have the pass holders pay for the new storyline content too.
By my reckoning, we have now used 1 of the 5 included DLC - The cap and the suit.
