Talking friends into getting Defiance.

really!? i live in philly n havent seen the commercial or the store yet but thats some weird **** huh!?!

and i really have come to enjoy this game over time... when i first got it i wasnt sure but then i started finding friends and joined a clan and now whenever im on theres always a few people i kno on and playing so that makes things fun also when rolling around with friends and doing arkfalls and co op maps and daily contracts and finding whats needed for persuits and searching for better loot all the time!! so i think theres plenty to do for now not including the main missions. its not perfect by any means but playing with friends is fun but maybe if your playing solo all the time i could see how someone would def not like it after a short time playing. its almost just like borderlands but on a MMO scale so i dont see how people could praise borderlands but not this and **** borderlands 2 needed a serious patch for issues that were game breaking for some people (me being one of them) and had to wait over 2 months for the patch so that we could play again!! ok so the servers come down at least once a day for 10 mins no biggie! even if it was 3 times a day its not like there hours n hours of downtime theyve been good warning of the downtime and quick to bring em back up. trion has released more patches to fix problems in one month then some devs do for the life of there game even when there major issues that need fixed n BL2 being that example... and the person who mentioned almost all online multiplayers pretty much being a grind... THAT IS SOO ****IN TRUE!! thats all they are. just because a game is a grind it doesnt always mean thats its a bad grind. critics and research companys might not score the game so high but almost all the user reviews on sites and feedback from gamers alike are all good and that is the sole reason that i ended up getting defiance and i have no regrets trading in injustice to be able to get it.

I had a few friends with this game. Luckily they talked me into not getting it.

I was following the development of this game for awhile... looking for a 360 MMO all nastalgic for PSU and the social aspects that mmo rpgs bring to the table.

I hipped 7 xbl friends to Defiance months prior to the games release, all of whom got really excited from the developer diaries and trailers and purchased the game.

5 of these friends have since stopped playing... for various reasons, lack of content being the unamious one... but also citing homoginization of character power v.s. level for the sake of an even playing field during arkfalls and pvp ( no tru sense of powerfull progression as you level up )... lackluster loot... in variety ( white-Orange only mildly different )... as reward ( No Unique and rare Weapons/Armors etc. to be hunted from Arkfalls or Co-op instances )

They all ( the ones that have moved on as well as the 2 who are still playing ) share the general consensus that the game is too shallow in system and content to be worthy of the title MMO RPG.

Personally I've been pacing myself on the content ( which I do in all open world games... a lil column A, a lill column B etc. ) and still have plenty to do, but I cant dispute the validity of their criticisims.

A friend of mine told me he was renting it.I was looking for a new game to play and because it was so cheap i just bought it.

I told one of my friends about it and he has also bought it.Im using this game as a stop gap till something im actually interested in comes along.

I had a friend tell me about it, and that was all she wrote. The next day, I had the game, lol. But I have enjoyed the game so far. I put up a tread last week asking the community if Defiance is really that bad? I would love to see you guys post comments just to see what you say. We ALL know of the major issues in the game. But how many of you still play? Once-twice a day? But back to your question Bumbles, friends made me get it

I have a handfull of friends who picked the game up on launch day..we're all still playing off and on. haven't gotten any new converts to Defiance but I got MagellanD to convert to Mass Effect from Defiance haha!! Party Chat full of gamers talking about ME got new blood to the series
