since the last patch 3-5 hellbugs can spawn under you and and you´re basically dead before you hit the ground. the new types don't have the red warning exclamation mark where they will pop.

There ist no stunlock in this game. You can evade any stun by rolling or even running.
Timing may be a little difficult when it comes to tanker grenades or bulwarks - but it is no "lock" at all.

L2P was the response I was expecting from the "community" The fact remains doing the "Waist Deep" side mission takes place in the middle of lake on submerged rocks means even if you roll you are swimming a slowed[0] target and dead. Coming off 6 months of ME3 platinum runs via BL2 means I know how to roll with the best of them and have been happily soloing most boss types including Monarchs, since day one.

I still state the game play engine is full of cheap tricks rather than intelligent tactics and to me that becomes tiresome after a while. Whether it is Hellbug spawns at point blank range or the clown car antics of Raiders. It is all Zerg and no strategy.

My advise to Trion remains give me something of a tactical and strategic challenge or I will go elsewhere.

[0] Whether you call the game mechanic produces a stun, a slow or what ever, if you make it impossible for the player to do anything except ride out the punishment it is a lock.

If it is all zerg and no strategy, what makes you think you can handle strategy?

Unfortunately there is no stunlock in the game.

There is Knockback as seen from being hit by elite 99'ers matlocks.
There is Knockback by the hell bugs who pop up underneath you.
There is bio slowdown by raiders, darkmatter, hellbugs, and 99'ers.
There is radiation by raiders, darkmatter, and 99'ers.
There is electric attacks by raiders, darkmatter, and 99'ers.
Fire attacks by Raider, Darkmatter, and 99'ers
Syphion attack again by the same above groups.

Not to mention the special Hellbugs that also do fire, Electric, Syphion, and acid/radiation attacks.

So no there isn't a stunlock. But you can have multiple Hellbugs knock you back multiple times if you consider that a stunlock.
I consider a stunlock where you can't do anything at all no moving, and no shooting for a few seconds a stunlock. The knockbacks aren't a stunlock IMHO.

Decoy and combat rolling is your friend in those situations.

You can hear the hellbugs travelling underground. Move away until they're quieter. Then wait for them to pop up. Then shoot them in the mouth, which is open when they pop up, and kaboom! Bug guts everywhere.

That's my patented bait and boom strategy. You're welcome to reproduce it elsewhere but I would appreciate being properly credited as the strategist.
