how the hell do get orange weapons

Orange or legendary weapon drops must be random based on luck. I saved up over half a mil in salvage in a few days and bought over 450 keys in 1 night. I recycled every weapon and kept 1, it was an orange. Over 450 keys... 1 drop? Wtf? It took over an hour to buy, use, and recycle all that. I bought over 13 tier 3 boxes and 9 tier 2 boxes. I've only gotten a total of 2 orange weapons and 1 orange shield in my entire history of this game. My ego is almost to 2900, ive must have spent over 20 million salvage in keys easy by now... That's over 20k keys!!! It also means my average for a legendary drop is around 6,700 keys each! ridiculous!!! Trion needs to fix this, how can 1 guy get 15 and some get none? That is not how you reward loyal players?

Tier 4 is the highest chance at orange...the last I checked the data some posters here had collected, orange it was something like this.


Tier 4
orange-7%

Tier 3
orange-2.9%

Tier 2
orange-1.5%

The guy on here that got 2 orange in Tier 2 just got very very lucky. Tier 2 has a very high chance at white or green. Tier 4 has highest chance at orange by more than double, highest chance at purple slightly over tier 3, second highest chance at blue, and lowest chance at green. Tier 4 is expensive, but you get what you pay for. Tier 4 gives you the best chance at getting orange....and/or purple.

You're missin the reason this happens to some and not others. Most of the guys you see with 15 orange are the guys that are buying bits on PS Store, which costs real money, and they then go into the game and buy tons of lockboxes at once. The odds in this game are kinda like scratch off tickets. The more you buy AT ONCE, the better chance of winning. This is what I have noticed is happening. I think you have better chance of orange if you save up your keycodes and buy many lockboxes at once....instead of buying one lockbox here and there. Or you can spend real money and buy bits.

Don't be discouraged. The orange weapons aren't really any better than purples. Yes they have usually one more inherent ability than purples, but that doesn't make them way better. Getting an orange is supposed to be hard. Orange weapons aren't so much a superior weapon as much as they are just a really rare, cool thing to have. I don't care if I have many oranges or not. I like the hunt to get them though. It makes me want it more.

I have never bought bits or used bits on lock boxes and I have many oranges. My EGO is only around 1800 (1780 or something).
Most of my Oj comes from Tier 4, but I have also gotten them in Tier 3. I have received double-dip (2 Oj, 1 box) boxes in both tier 3 and tier 4.
First Oj came at 173

Don't know what determines it. Definitely not seeing as many since 1.014

I got 2 really early, like pre ego 500. They weren't gun types I used so I promptly vendored them thinking as I leveled up guns would only get stronger so whats the point in keeping them...wish I had done a little research first.

I brought about ten tier 3s and got nothing, on my second tier 4 I got an oj pistol.

You have to pour real money into lock boxes, and i mean pour, and that's the only way, other than buying from others who have poured their money into lock boxes. I spent 75 dollars on lock boxes and got 2 legendaries. They don't drop from enemies period, as far as I know. I find this to be a major major fail within this game.

EDIT: obviously you can save up bits and buy boxes, but at the rate you get boxes with this method, you're very unlikely to come across any legendaries, at least that has been my experience.
