Rift isn't the same as Defiance as in all the coding and server working. And beta DOES mean they test their servers and fix major bugs the beta players find.

Once a company lifts the NDA that pretty much means they feel the product is ready for release and it's essentially in an open beta phase more than a closed beta - despite what that company may claim. You've got 11 days before release, the company lifted the NDA for this test phase, and this phase is also numbered at #3 - so one has to ask, what'd they do the previous 2? As already stated, they know exactly how many invites/keys they released for this weekend "event" as well as the numbers of previous testers in the other phases. It just boggles the mind how they can then be this ill-prepared for the load hitting their servers.

I think this is something completely diffrent then the load the servers are takeing its got to be some kind of code issue since everyones having issues with the first cut scene.

I was tested ToR since early Alpha and I don't recall one time the servers had this type of issue.

Some people are deluded, beta is a sales gimmick now. Buy now for earlier access and beta perks!

if thats true why give the consoles few month old builds? its not presenting what the game is now

This. There is always something that doesn't work as intended, a lag fix that slows things down, or a menu option tweak that causes you to CTD if you shoot the sniper rifle while wearing a red cap.

Same thing applies when trying to tweak the network code. Also, if you've never had more than 1K players active, there's always a chance that 10K will break servers that should be able to handle 100K if there is an unknown bug.

TL;DR You obviously don't work in IT, so take our word for it :P
