This trope needs to die already (spoilers)

I don't play console shooters for a number of reasons. One is that boss fights are always ******ed. Second is that boss fights against invulnerable bosses are even ******ederer. It's just so... old.

Third is that boss fights against invulnerable bosses with a stupid and game-breaking weakness that give you a five-second window to do a tiny bit of damage to the boss are just plain lame. Game-breaking lame. Make-me-not-want-to-log-in-again lame.

"There's another smelter! Target it's fuel pack!" -- with about a 1:10 chance of actually hitting the guy without killing him. Seriously? Really, I mean seriouslly? Most of the game is pretty well-written, but this kind of thing is just a lame dodge to make a game seem challenging while making it not at all fun.

Glad I decided not to upgrade. After spending an hour trying to kill Jackleg... there is a *possibility* I might log in again. Maybe.

I just jumped up on the mine carts and was able to shoot at his gas tank. The real fun was after he jumps down and tries to steam roll you.

Jackleg is super easy to beat. Melee the smelters, then shoot their tanks. I beat him with a white FRC SAW and maxed overcharge.

Try using a grenade thrower (Boomer) against the smelters, even a near miss can set the packs on their backs on fire. Just an idea that worked for me.

Fun fact about smelters... let them hit you, they get stuck in the animation, you have a free shot at their backpack.

The fight isn't that hard. I died once because I didn't roll away from his grenades fast enough, but the second time I made it. Just slap the little flamethrower b*tches so they fall down, then shoot their fuel tanks once and once they take down his barriers, shoot him. It just takes a while and is very repetetive, but Nim was worse in that regard.

Like one poster mentioned: You melee attack the smelter. It knocks them to the ground (on their stomach.) At this point you are given nearly five full seconds to take careful aim at a huge glowing backpack. Of course, the game never tells you this.

The game does a good job of not telling us a lot of things
