I played for the first time in two weeks yesterday just to see if there was an improvement. Sadly not.

I still can't progress in multiplayer my kills still register asgoing backwards, restarting the main story it crashes whenever I fast travel. Pursuits still bugged.

I may try again in another few weeks but most of my clan has traded it in already for the same reasons.

Shame as i bought 2 copies as well, the ultimate and the standard edition. My hopes were way high for this game. I expected to live in it for years.

Strange i see that today on some gaming web sites
    Defiance hits 1 million registrations

Trion Worlds also shared a number of in-game achievements, saying Defiance players have killed more than 500,000,000 hellbugs to date. In addition, players have driven 50,000,000 miles in the game and battled one million Arkfalls.

    this is a good game
Hoping to see the DLC soon

I decided to leave this weekend but I'm not going to get rid I'd Defiance (that boat already sailed); I figure that if they ever fix those damn Arkfall pursuits and add some real content I'll be back. I'm pretty confidant I'm not alone and the reason GameStop hasn't seen a lot of returns is that people are taking a wait and see approach too. Why trade in an mmo that has no subscription fee, especially if you're only going to get a fraction of what you paid for it? There's always a chance the game will actually get good. Or at least better.

I think the best thing about Defiance is that it can be a lesson to the next team that makes an mmo for consoles. I'm confident that the next console mmo is going to be killer and a must have game. The only thing that breaks my heart is that it took till the final year of this console cycle to try to make an mmo and the next one will probably release on the next gen consoles.

IMO, some will and some wont. Some people when they bail on a game they never look back because they are sure the game isn't right for them. Others are taking a break and will look back in from time to time.

I think I've returned to WoW 3 times over the years (but not recently). For me personally I don't see a reason to leave Defiance. There is no monthly sub, so taking a break is sorta free, AND I find the game to be fun.

Its the same opinion for me, an those that post saying they're leaving an putting all the hate out are doing it for attention an breaking the code of (whatever its called for the Defiance Community post), an same with WoW played many years with a few breaks, an have not gotten back into it. I love the whole concept of this game/tv series, an will be here for a long time to come.

How that announcement couldn't scare people more than a tad, I've not a clue.

First, 1 million box sales, if that was what we were talking about here (we're not, but more on that in a moment) in a month really wouldn't be that impressive for a heavily advertised multi-platform AAA game. It wouldn't be terrible, of course, but hardly impressive in a world were GW2 (also b2P, not multi-platform, and not nearly as advertised) claimed 2 million box sales in two weeks (granted, given pre-sales and wording they gamed that more than a tad, but still...).

Second, if they had sold 1 million boxes, they would have said so. They didn't, they said 'registrations'. One does not have to have bought the game to register. One doesn't have to have played the game to register. Hell, one doesn't even have to have had much interest in the game to register. People, likely a whole lot of people, registered to enter the codes and then, for various reasons, never bought the game. Others registered to ask pre-sale questions (there's been numerous such threads) or just troll the boards.

The relationship between "registrations" and actual sales is tenuous at best. Trion clearly wants people to assume that registrations = boxes sold -- and it's telling that they pulled this exact same stunt with Rift -- but that's clearly not the case.

If they'd made 1 million sales, they would have bragged about that instead of "registrations". That fact that they can't even brag about having sold a million boxes, something that wouldn't even be particularly impressive under the circumstances, should be very worrisome to anyone concerned about the long term health of this game.

if they don't, they're wasting their money. We're getting free content updates as long as the game stays live, so really there's no point not coming back to play for a day or two, or even an hour or two as new content is made available. It's not a sub based game so there's little point trying to race to the end and finish everything before your sub renews :P
Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.
