    Competitive Multiplayer issues

Im an old school player and I enjoy a good shooter game and that is why I play defiance. But when I play competitive multiplayer the game just gets ugly. I have leaned this so far in my short playings. 1. Jumping like an idiot and running fast will allow you to survive. Those who have mastered how to shoot straight while doing that will own anybody. 2. If you play shadow wars the best gun by far is the ATV. just keep driving over people. One hit kill. It takes forever to try to kill someone with a gun.

Also it is so ridiculously bugged playing multiplayer. I think the competitive multiplayer just takes away anything good from the game. It just does not work well at all.

Also am I the only one that thinks that when they get all the bugs worked out of this game that it will turn into a freemium game like star wars

You're not the only one. Most opinions on here are of the same. It's already non-subscription, though. If it went freemium, I wouldn't play it. I'm a lowly console scrub though, so...

I’m new to shooters and not that good. Co-Ops put me with better players and together I can enjoy quests that would be difficult for me alone. Besides, you don’t have to play them – you can do arkfalls.

    PvP is a bad joke

Found that out the first day I tried it...

In my first Shadow Wars attempt, I died twelve times: seven times I died within a half-second of spawning, meaning the other side was camping the spawn points and THEY SEE YOU BEFORE YOU HAVE CONTROL OF YOUR CHARACTER; the other five times I was run over by a vehicle I never heard approaching. Evidently, vehicles make no sound approaching you, only after they've passed you; it's a new sort of Doppler effect...

I don't mind dying in a fair fight, but this was a joke. My PvP experiences in this game have been so bad I have refused to play it anymore, which is disappointing because I like PvP.

Bunny hopping doesn't bother me. I think it's childish, but you find it in pretty much every PvP environment where character movement is unrealistic (relative to basic physics and human fatigue).

shadow wars used to be the best part of this game. infact its still the main reason i play. i'm getting tired of the opness of the infector though. ever since people discovered how op they are, more and more and more people are switching to it and just ****** everything. shadow wars now comes down to who has the most infector users on their team.

auto aim - allows people to jump up and down, hide around rocks trees, many other objects, even do 360s while still landing almost 100% of their shots. (yes ive seen people do 360s for fun just to show how easy it is to kill with it)

heat seeking missiles -bugs, that do massive damage. so many bugs spawn that when another player shows up, the bugs just **** him. the enemy player is either left dead or near death, all without the infector even firing another shot. infector users will kill any npc enemies around him just to get the bugs to spawn.

DoT - cant cloak to get away, even if you manage to kill the infector user, the DoT will still finish you along with the bugs.

blindness - spore that grows on you is so big, it covers 2/3rd of the screen so you cant even see what you are shooting at. try using an AR while having a big blob block out your view, totally fun and equal fight.

i've started looking at other games again and even considered going back to call of duty. shadows is just becoming "meh" now.

I never play shadow wars since when I spawn players don't appear for around 30 seconds, which means if I die and respawn I get shot at by invisible enemy and usually die again. I don't have a bad connection, the game itself is not laggy and pvp I have no problems.

Don't get me wrong. I think the co-ops are a blast and I really enjoy the main experience of the game. Its just they have contracts and pursuits that link to competitive multiplayer and It upsets me that its not even fun to try to get 100 kills.

Counter points DOT: Many cloak users already screwed the pooch on this point for you, running around with a sawed off shotgun

Bugs: The gun itself does a VERY low amount of damage, unless using a Canker which does increased DOT but doesn't spawn bugs until the target dies.

Homing: Aside from the Immunizer, all infectors have a rather short range. more often than not a shotgunner will kill me before all 3 ticks start up.

NPC's: Now in Shadow War, my preferred loadout is my Immunizer, to deal with shotgunners, and my Derailer, to deal with idiots in vehicles. EGO Power: Cloak. When I defend a point. I don't want the NPC's shooting at me. I will kill them in the most effective way possible, this being using my infector.

Do I HAVE to use infectors in PVP? No, is it my choice and preference? Yes. Feel free to call me a noob because of it, but until they fix cloak/shotgun users and ATV's I'm going to keep using my setup

And thats fine. You should be able to use whats in the game. Its just so not a finished product and not polished and not balanced. I think the coop and main game is fun besides the countless errors and drops and bugs. I think it works well as a shooter but it just falls apart when it loads competitive shooting. I guess I should point out that IM a PS3 user. Maybe the PC side is smoother. I just wish they wouldn't put pursuits into competitive multiplayer. I do not want to do them but i feel wrong not trying to get the ego points.
