I mean, seriously? If you want people to start using other weapons, don't nerf powerful weapons, BUFF THE WEAK WEAPONS. There's no auto aim on PvP, so headshots actually take some skill. A Bolt Action Sniper Rifle should always be a OHK with a headshot, you know, like every other freakin' shooter out there.

For PVP a sniper rifle is almost pointless.

-The lowest ammo carry of any weapon, but no real damage bonus to off-set this
-Very slow firing, but still takes 4-8 shots to kill anything, and any pvper can get out of the way by then, and you have less then 30 rounds...
-No distance bonus for vision while zooming. I mean you can zoom in in but the rendering speed is so slow that you have to get with in 50 meters to see your enemies and by then you are in shotgun range....
-and the scope mods seem to make you worse not better at targeting, so at least half your shots are wasted...

In short, you're lucky to get one to 2 kills with a sniper rifle in PVP before you gotta find an ammo box... and I'd say you count more on other players being bad and having luck as oppose to anything else.

this is so far from the truth, i always play sniper on waterfront and its rare that i end up with more deaths then kills and its rare that i get less then 4 kills in a game, and im no pro with the sniper rifle and so far i have never had to get amo. Maby its not the weapon but its user.

So u probably dont get reload bug. I have bolt action snipe with 16 size mag, shoot 3 bullets, reload and i end up with triple reload so i end up with something like 5 bullets in clip and 0 reserve.

As far as it goes for consoles, 2 kills with headshots seems about right. Maybe 4 in a PC but since we have joysticks and no aim assist we are very limited and sniping is alot more difficult than on a PC. I'm good with a sniper on my Xbox, but definitely not pro. I can manage 3-4 headshots but when my friend plays with me most games we get 2-3 headshots average, sometimes less. I have run out of ammo on my bolt action but rarely.

stutter reload sucks! but why have such a large mag size in the bolt action if youre gonna reload every 3rd shot? isnt that counter productive with a bolt action?

The problem is A LOT of people are editing their shield information and taking little to no damage, as so that its not obvious and they wont get banned as easy since no one thinks twice of it if they don't know about it. Already reported a couple hackers today, basically head shot with crit, 341 damage to shield, get killed by random from behind. 2nd encounter caught him again with his shield down, critical head shot for 400 damage, 2nd shot too the body does 187. Not sure how much longer this game will hold my interest. Using a bolt action with 1217 base damage.

Sorry to say, but I feel snipers are OP sometimes after some massive practice with them. In PVP start out with a FRC Quick Repeater or something close to, focus on hitting body on the first shot, head second shot. After you get that down pretty solid move up to a VOT Meteor Bolter and quick scope at medium range. Body shots if you can't for sure get the head and you'll still wreck people, especially when you start getting better at the close range head shots. Just went 8/3 with like 5 assists, sniper only. Don't bash it the snipers quite yet ^_^

@Slay, I'm averaging about 5-6 headshots with quick scoping at medium ranges.

I don't agree with the auto sniper as it's a nub's sniper. Bolt Action > Auto Sniper
