PVP is pointless its the same 3 maps over and over. PVE is pointless the co-op dungeons NEVER CHANGE. Arkfalls are BORING because there are ONLY 3 MAJOR TYPES.

Clans are IRRELEVANT because of the above. Socialization is NOT IMPLEMENTED unless your standing two feet away from someone.

Why do you play when there is no reason to keep playing?
I find the core game play enjoyable and there are many pursuits to sort of treat as new goals and stuff. Sure the game ran out of Main story content pretty fast and I have played the co-op many times over and the competitive really needs some new maps (especially ones that encourage more ranged shooting and use of cover etc instead of all the run-and-gun and Shotgun domination that is going on).

The Shadow Wars is just now starting to get better with better team play players on both sides. Also more Shadow War games are getting started. That really is a unique and awesome mode. The only issue I have with it is the Purple dots (Players not part of the PvP)... everybody in the area needs to pick a side or get evacuated from the area. It's fine if they want to continue to do other things during the Shadow War, but for that time being it needs to be PvP if you are in the area (no purples).

    [QUOTE=Archeus9;545961]In before fanboy spam

Yeah that's right, anyone who enjoys a game that you don't must be a fanboy. Makes perfect sense.

My favorite threads that bash the game are the people who try to add weight to there opinion by naming off all the MMO's they have played and how long they have played video games in general.

Ok, so you have played WoW and defiance is 100x worse, my question is why do you no longer play WoW? If its so great why did you stop playing, its my understanding that they still add new content to that game yet here you are playing defiance. So yeah, keep listing all the games you used to play that are still up and running, it really helps make your case /sarcasm

I play defiance because I find it fun, most of the complaints I read I can easily determine that the poster is just a noob and has no idea how the game works, these are usually the people who have 4x less my score in co-ops and arkfalls....but yeah, all weapons are the same and theres no progression or ability to do more damage....lol....you people are a joke.

Options are the best thing to have in a game like this. If none of it is working for you, trying hanging out with some dumb-*** friends and having fun. All im saying. ;].
I actually play mostly solo outside the odd player helping with a location or Co-op. I've gotten tired of guilds in MMOs. I don't like listening to the whining that more often then not fills the chat, and I absolutely hate voice chat outside encounters. I don't like having someone talk to me while I play, much less a stranger through a microphone. But I am a self professed loner introvert.

I'm still playing for the same reason I play any video game: Fun.

I enjoy playing shooters, both 1st and 3rd person. I enjoy open world sandbox games. And I enjoy MMOs. This game combines all three, and it does what it does very, very well. It's not the only game I play, so I'm not expecting it to somehow fill 100% of my gaming requirements all by itself. No single game can do that for me, which is why I have lots of games on all 3 platforms. But Defiance is fun enough that I have been playing at least an hour or two of it every day since release day... some days, several hours.

If I weren't having fun, I wouldn't be playing it and I wouldn't be here. I've gotten far, far more than my money's worth of quality and quantity gaming entertainment out of Defiance already, and if I weren't still enjoying it, I'd simply move on to something else that was fun. I certainly wouldn't waste my time arguing or complaining about the game or other players who were still having fun.

Fun is the only reason to play any video game. If ever convinced myself that I was playing games for any other reason, I think I'd be Doing It Wrong.

Sounds like you've had some bad guild experiences. You find a fun guild and that would change, but I get where you are coming from. The option to play solo or with a group would be better then just solo only for those missions.

I stopped to play for now, and wait free content and fixes.

Probably 80% of sold boxes already left the game (many after the first week). Speaking on forums, you just speak to :
    - fans (short for "fanatic"), who would be happy even if there was even more bugs and less content.
    - newcomers, people who just come in and still don't know what is waiting them (aka a short game lifespan).
    - "ghosts", ppl like me who are deceived by current implementation and speak openly about defaults, waiting any decent update in order to reverse their speaking.

The marketing won't save it for season 2.

    Waiting for ArcheAge.

My first thought was "What is wrong with the younger generation?". Then I got thinking about it and decided it is not the younger generation it is more the advancement of technology. With Internet game developers can add and fix games whenever they want.

See back in the day before the consoles hooked up to the Internet you bought a game and played it over and over. I would love to know how many hours I logged on Pac-Man for the Atari 2600. Repetitive game, no rewards for advancement, no add-on content, no fixes, and no save feature. Yet, I spent a lot of time playing that game. Friends would come over and we would take turns. It was just fun.

This game is still fun and I am at Ego level 1596. I play every day for a few hours. I have met some cool gamers on here and have helped out people just starting to play this game. I have played through the story missions twice and done all the side missions. Sometimes I just sit there and watch my four year old get excited driving around on this game.

It really comes down to the individual player. Yes the game has bugs and gets frustrating at times. Coming on the forums and complaining, whining, and demanding is not going to change the game. Saying I am done or I want my money back does nothing for players that are enjoying the game either. Before anyone hates on me I am not saying that anyone one in this thread is doing this.

I play because I can and I still get enjoyment out of the game. I get to run around a open world and do what I feel like doing. I can either help others out or drive in circles around and Arkfall. So in a nutshell that is why I still play.
