That's actually a good idea. People who are hardcore board-gamers have known that Monopoly has a horrifically tedious end game for a long time, and avoid that game like the plague.
It usually comes down to an incredibly tedious slippery slope where one player is obviously winning and it's unlikely anyone can do anything about it, but the game still drags on for several hours as players get nickel and dimed to death.
