Regardless of what you THINK, this is not a 'play for free' weekend. It is NOT a test to see if you like the game. It is NOT a free trial. It is the last weekend of BETA which always means SERVER STRESS TESTING. Thats why there is log in issues, there will be lag in game too and it will suck. This is so that the Devs can (hopefully) work out the bugs and make it play nice on opening weekend. Anyone that thinks this is some sort of free trial, try it before you buy it opportunity has obviously no BETA experience. However, when you log in, you will be doing your part for the people who will enjoy the game later. BETA periods suck, are not meant to be fun all the time and by their nature mean 'testing period' for the Devs. Its not a test for the players to see if they want to buy it later, lol.
some of us here played rift last beta weekend and head start smoothest launch EVER for an mmo.. i was EXPECTING this to be the same.. there is ZERO reasons for this type of thing in mmo launches in this day and age.. this type of thing WILL kill a game faster than simply a bad game.. they need to get their **** together and get it sorted..

I followed an advertisment to create this account and download this game.
This was sent to me so I would try this game and hopefully buy it. Which I most likely will not unless things change rapidly.
I did not:
1. Apply to be a beta tester
2. Want to pay for another MMO failure
3. Want to TvT on another forum of a failed game. (Troll vs Troll for all you newbies)
There are a lot of reasons for servers not to be work in in a beta, just because one game got it right doesn't mean there won't be complications with the code of the next game. A few server crashes during a beta aren't going to kill a game, if that were the case then there would be a lot more dead mmos, including the one everyone loves to hate, and hates to love.
All of you saying things like suck it up are missing the point. A big highly publicized beta event like this is a first impression on how well Trion is capable of running an MMO as well as the game itself. Right or wrong people are not going to be impressed with queues that are longer than the beta event itself. Trion has probably just lost more preorders and day one sales than it has gained.
Even if everyone who is upset is dead wrong, it doesn't matter if they don't buy the game. Trion loses.
im really surprised that people react like this its 3 beta weekend and not a free trial weekend. this last beta weekends is the biggest test before release and we are supposed to help see if we can crash the server (we could) so when they launch the game 2 April this wont happens.... why do people this its only PR ? oc there is also pr involved but the beta tests main goal is to make sure the servers are running and able to handle the big amount of people so sit back and relax try again in a few hours if your only here to check out the game and have no wish in helping the game
Welcome to the Stress Test for all you new people. This was/is expected. For those that think everything should be given to you or you are entitled to have no problems because you are a whiner/rage quiter, let me GIVE you this wisdom. READ THE BETA ToS. Oh wait that is right you dont have to read them because all should be spoon fed to you. well here it is in easy to understand terms.
This not final game.
As people DL/install then try to play they see how many at what time try to join. This way they can Balance load the servers. If 5 people play at 0200GMT then why should they have 50,000 servers running just for those 5 people. As more people try to log in they turn on more servers. (remember I am Keeping It Simple for the Stupids) (KISS for you smart people) Yes when they do this it might bounce you out of the game or give you the basic load out that is on that server.
You will have problems
You will find a bug or glitch. If you do find one DO A FRIGGEN SUPPORT ticket. if you dont and then you play on April 22 and the Bug/glitch is still there because you did not tell anyone it is your fault and not the Devs. I can see it now. "they still have not fixed that Hellbug you can not kill because it is underground but it can kill you in I dont report anything during betas canyon. I think I will rage quit because I did not tell anyone about the bug when I had the chance."

Things happen that will make you mad. Ninja looters, griefers, people calling you a gurly man, girls telling you to get in the kitchen and make them a samich.

If you cant get it through your head that this is a beta and not the finished game or real life. If you really get so upset you have to yell &*%$&*^ this game and company in the forums then maybe you should try going outside. There is this thing in the sky called the sun. You should see it.
If you yell "I AM QUITING"
99% you wont quit (I wish you would but that is another story) You just want attention. If you really want to quit you would just do it without posting on the forums.
While this is technically true this is not perceptually true. Most people simply do not view a big beta event like this as anymore than marketing. Right or wrong that how people see it, so that's what perceptual reality is. Companies not realizing this and acting appropriately are only hurting themselves.
