Can you play the game from USB flash drive?

Does Xbox 360 version require HDD to play?
I have the Xbox 360s (Slim) with no HDD it uses a small internal 4g flash memory. I also have a 30gb USB stick to save most of my games to. I downloaded the game without problem, but when I got to the patch screen a saving bar pops up for a split second then returns me to the patch screen. If I choose to patch again it then takes me to a black loading screen which then always freezes my console.
My question Is to anyone out there who is in the same situation as me that uses a usb stick to save. Or maybe an official could confirm if the Xbox 360 HDD is needed to play.
    Thanks

This is a MMO not other games flash drive wont cut it. you need the HDD.

But I would put in a support ticket they may have a work around worth a shot.

I play the game with external USB HDD (not flash drive) and it works great. No problems and quick load times.

I'm playing the whole installation on a flash stick. Works fine. Haven't had any issues.

Aslong as the flash drive is xbox compatible it will be fine. most new flashdrives are compatible.

    Installed and patched to Flash

I tried to install and patch to my 16gig flash and after patching is complete I get the option to press a to start. once I press a the title screen loads but is locked up at the character screen. After restarting the game it tries to reinstall and repatch every time. Seems like it is not recognizing the install or patches on the Flash or its not even checking. If anyone has had similar results and have found a way to correct it please post the solution. Waiting about 2 hours for an install and patch every time I want to try and play is getting old fast.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my profile being saved to the hard drive and the game data being on the flash... just seems like it is not looking to see that the game is already installed and patched just not in the same directory as my Profile.
