Respawn - always puts you too far away from what you were working on!!

One thing I would like to see is a change to how the game handles where you respawn - anytime I die I always end up having to travel forever to get back to where I was when I died - they ought to have save points along the way to keep you at least in the general vicinity of where you died!

Can you post a map and show us this distance?

I can't say I've ever had this issue. Getting everywhere is easily done and you will spawn at the nearest unlocked location.

What do you expect them to do? Put you exactly behind the person that killed your exactly on area that you got to capture?

You do not respawn at the nearest extraction point. You respawn at the last extraction point you touched. It may be different for PS3 or Xbox, but that is how it works for PC.

I have to agree on this I can not count how many times I had had to drive 2km back to where I was because I somehow managed to miss the nearby points.

I honestly have never had this problem, every major spot that has the possibility of killing the player, always has an extraction point fairly close to it, if not directly outside the locations front door...

You dont even have to touch it. Just drive vaguely near it. If you take roads to your destination, its very rare you wont have a point relatively near where you're headed. If you don't use the roads, you'll want to just take a few seconds to find the nearest ammo crate marker on the map first.

You actually spawn at the last respawn point you "bound to".

The problem comes from the fact that it seems the ranges of these respawn points seems to wildly vary on a point by point basis.

Some respawn points will catch you the minute you enter their zone, while others... well you can map travel to Muir and leave without getting bound to the respawn point that's just a few yards from the map travel point.

Yes, I adamantly disagree with the removal of key codes from all emergencies.

I reserve the right to take personal offense at anyone who disagrees with me, because I find blatant stupidity offensive.

If you're playing the game in any logical form it's not going to be a problem because you'll be bound. That means progressing through the story or doing side whatevers. The only time I can think of this not occurring is if you just travel around to random areas for no reason to accomplish no true goal while simultaneously missing all check points on your way there. That is quite a feat and I'm almost curious to log in to view it myself.

I believe it actually happens more than most people are aware, people just don't tend to have to extract often enough to see it.

As it is, a good majority of the time I've noticed it was either because I was panning the map and noticed my last bind point was about 2km away or when I notice the chat box says I was last bound at <insert faraway location here>.

Consider it the harsh penalty for failure.
Oh, that and 120 script. :P

Seeing that getting 10k script it easy... the respawn is the much harsher of the punishments.

So yeah.. try not to die.
