Well i can tell you what happened to me. Dustin2, or PSN I.D. Dustin_JustDoIt,( Also the clan leader of Extinction,) will beg you for Orange Items to trade.
Afterwards will send you clan invite, ( I was clanless, so what the heck.)
Runs missions together,and earns your trust.
So, i ask him to do me a favor and hold some orange items while i switch to an alternate character to do a transfer, and he agree's.
Says he has to do the same, and wants to me to return the favor.
So like a noob idiot, i give him an Orange VOT Lobber, Bio-Grenade, and a Cluster Shotgun.
He Decides to unfriend me, and kick me from the clan.
My mistake for trusting a Clan leader of Extinction.

Imagine that a scammer on the internet.
That is why I would only trade/buy if there was an auction house kinda like Forza has,that is about the only way to truly know you will get your stuff.

I know that this is kinda off-topic but, if Trion just added a Personal Stash to the game then the original problem of needing to trade your rare items to someone to hold while you change characters would be a non-issue
