Finally my first Legendary! uh, need help..

Was beginning to think I was bugged out of legendary loot but I finally got one from a T3 lock box at the consulate (so for all you people who've been playing since release sans-legendary, keep the faith!). It's synergy is (2) veteran: 10% rate of fire for 2 seconds after full reload. Is it true that the (2) synergies are only found on weapons and can only go into effect when you equip 2 weapons of identical synergy? I keep thinking I've seen mods with veteran synergy but it's late so I can use the help. And just cuz I want to show it off (I feel it's quite sexy, though I don't use SMGs I'm going to start):

VOT Pulser (Siphon nano)
SMG accentuating firing on the move
Only mag slot was unlocked (going to unlock all of course)

Synergy: (2) veteran: 10% rate of fire for 2 seconds after full reload
X1.10 mag
200% melee dmg for 5 seconds after self-revive
X1.25 mag

DMG 179
Fire rate: 15.0
Mag 54
Reload 1.5
Crit mult 1.5
Bloom 0.15

Used it on an arkfall before server refresh, feels pretty beasty! Please let me know about the synergy, and if there are veteran mods available I'm looking to buy one! PSN/NA

I just wanted to inform you that the only mods that are available right now from the Lock Box are, Run n Gun , and Brutal. We should be getting a patch here soon including the missing weapons, the missing mods , and a whole bunch of other fixes.

True, but I know faction vendors have mod caches as well, I think it's consulate that has ran cache for Prepared synergy, which I have purchased and got a sniper rifle barrel and it had prepared synergy on it.

I don't think I've seen veteran on any mod cache, but do you know if the two weapon thing is true?

Wait, not meaning to thread hijack but was this confirmed somewhere? Or just speculation?

Not that I'm saying the mod caches being loaded with Brutal and Run & Gun was intentional or not, but I could see the possibility that some of these synergy mods we haven't seen yet could be tied in with DLC.

That is not a synergy that you "activate" by using the proper mods. For that synergy to work, you need to have a second weapon with that same synergy equipped in the same loadout. Wouldn't waste to much on this legendary imo.

It's a 2pieces synergy, not a 4pieces. That mean the synergy is not activated using mods, but using another gun with the same synergy.
IE, you need another veteran gun to use along with the SMG.

About synergy : I had a scavenger mod from a Hotshot. However, while easy to have sniper rifle/pistol mod (they are fixed reward for certain hotshot), a smg/lmg/ar mod is far more tricky, as they are not fixed reward. While a hotshot is a guaranteed mod for a certain weapon, a rampage reward only random mod for random weapons.

I beg to differ, I believe I found it's niche. Added a lvl 3 mag (87rd clip) and yeah dmg is less than the heavy hitters but its not far off, still in top three on ark falls. Where it really shines IS arkfalls, my kill count has skyrocketed for arkfall and living to kill pursuits (both kill count and damaged by another player) because the fire rate and full auto almost guarantee I get kill shot, plus reloads nice and fast. Created a sweet perk load out and use the pulser and grind fragger for a deadly combo.
