I think that the show Will interact with the game but the contrary is not obvious. The show Will be recorded weeks e or months before it end up on your screen.

In my opinion they can do alot, question is how much they did. I expect to see at least players can choose if some character dies or no, if he dies, he disappear from the show.

Also stuff like your vehicles looks exactly the same in the game and the show, thats quite awesome.

I also think when you see some old good bug killing in the show, you want to log in the game and slaughter some.

As far I know theres multiple factions in the game, so what if, two faction battles (PVP) and who wins and lose shows in the show. Thats almost the least I expect. Winners keep their leader and losers leader dies...

And there's an IGN article that says more of the same: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/...-game-into-one

It doesn't seem so far like the game will have any impact on the show. Mostly I was thinking things like big people in the community or large guilds that do amazing stuff being showcased just by names, for example. That would be pretty neat.
Hold your horses... Only thing they promise is that we can change the world, not become legend or famous. Sure the idea is great but dont get your hopes up. I'd be funny if some guy was called as Noob, and you could see it in the show, somebody is talking about him. "Man that Noob did a good job.."

Basically actors could talk about or mention some player name..

One thing is for sure, I think there needs to be alot of interactivity preferably in every episode or I may lose my interest fast. Hopefully theres enough though. Of course save the best for the last.

I think its sweet and endearing that people think that their actions in the game will affect the show.

With that said, TV episodes are actually filmed months ahead and scripted even years in andvance. Even as we discuss this, the filming of the first season of Defiance is over or close to being over. Thats why when you see live interviews with actors they look different (longer hair/gained or lost weight etc.) that how they look in the episode you watched last night on TV.

Transmedia simply means that scripted evens will be mentioned in the show and game. For exaple a large explosion in the show might be mentioned by some NPCs in the game, or you might see a NPC from the game leaving the area and then appearing as a actor in the show (the NPC of course would have to originally imaged after the actor).

One way to look at it, is that NPCs in this expansion of World of Warcraft may discuss the death of the Lich King who is the boss from the previous expansion. Even though your character may not have killed the Lich King, the NPCs still assume he is dead.

    This.

Or, they may have filmed multiple scenes for an episode and depending on what we do ingame in a scripted event or arkfall, they would splice in the appropriate scene they filmed. But I'm not a TV producer, or game designer, I don't know how hard that would be. They would have to plan very carefully to make sure that no matter what scene is picked that they all flow well with the rest of the episode and series.

This has actually been discussed at length in another thread, the census was that yes, the entire first season is done, there is likely little to no interaction from game to show. However, in the interim of season 1 finale and the season 2 premiere, there will be more chances for us as players to interact and effect the game, get "name drops" etc.

on the subject of names, "l33t_sauc3" style of names would obviously be either disqualified or changed.

key features of how we can influence the show would most likely be along the lines of "how well did the players do against/with the event?" Was it a total failure, complete success, or well earned victory, or valiant effort? Did anyone stand out in the crowd? Was there a specific clan that was carrying their server?" Etc and so forth.

how the show can effect the game after an episode, would be something along the lines of a character on the show leaves the show, to come fight alongside the players as an NPC/event. Etc.

At comic con, the panel talked about one event where 'razor rain', basically spaceships caught up in vortexes and throwing down shrapnel, is travelling across the country into the path of Defiance and SanFran, and what we do in game, and what the characters do in game will have a direct effect on each other.

I really do think that the developers have a lot more up their sleeves than just NPCs talking about what is happening in the show. And if that's all they have ....it's a huge wasted opportunity

Also, at the same panel, they mentioned a character from the game, player character would be bought into the show depending on the feats the player accomplished in game.
