"Full damage radius" - can someone explain this to me?

Just got an orange matchlock boomer and leveled it up, and now it has x1.25 full damage radius, +0.40 full damage radius from the implicit mods on the gun. I was thinking of putting a +0.60 full damage modification on it as well, but i can't figure out exactly what full damage radius actually does.

It doesn't appear to change the blast radius, does it only change the damage done within the radius (ie: falloff damage?)

Can anyone explain it to me?

    Thanks

Think of an explosive weapon's damage like a set of concentric circles (like an archery target) where the center "circle" or region does the full amount of damage the weapon can do. Going further out there is falloff damage because you are further from the explosion. I would assume the "full damage radius" bonus increases the proportional size of that "bullseye" where the weapon is doing maximum damage.

^^^^^ yah, this is imho the best definition. Just think of a hand grenades kill radius death/dismemberment within 10meters, 15-25m major injury/possible death, 30m+ shrapnel covers area (this is all without cover)
Look at the overall min/max damage within the "circle"

Yes, I agree with that interpretation! I'd be curious to know the specifics of that damage falloff.
