4 times today i've had my PS3 hard lock up. Had this a few times since Defiance came out but never this regular. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having the same issues all of a sudden? Defiance is the only game I have ever had that I needed to do a hard reset of PS3 (might just have been lucky in the past)
as in pulling the plug? or holding down the pwr button for 20 seconds?
Yea I was having the same problem for the last couple of days and I would have to pull the plug just to restart it.

I have been having this problem alot since the last patch update. It mostly happens if I'm the leader of the group im in and use my Mic. I have tested it with a friend to and it always results in the group leaders ps3 hardlocking whenever we use our mics which really sucks. Neither of us are even playing the game now as we can't use the Mic without the game messing up. Hopefully it gets fixed fast.
Luckily knock on wood its only happened to me three times since playing the game, Usually it was because I didn't log out and I would just do a regular shut down without logging out of the game.
yep,it's so common now that I have perfected the "reach around" to the back of my console to unplug and plug it back in.
It's getting quite ridiculous really,and making me real hesitant on even playing the game as much as I do enjoy it.
People say this on ever single game forum. It has nothing to do with the game your system is starting to die or you have corrupt data. If your system is dirty clean it.....
If it only happens on this game delete the data install and re do it. If all else fails buy a new ps3 problem solved.

This is the ONLY game that causes my PS3 to hard freeze,I am able to have long gaming sessions (when my wife goes to bed) of about 4-5 hours on other games and never have any problems.
As a matter of fact,I played and finished Tomb Raider last night,and I was playing for about 4.5 hours,so don't feed me the garbage of "it's your system"
Also for the record....I HAVE rebuilt my data base,and re-installed everything to no avail.
Delete the install for the game it self and re do it. 1 million people playing and only a couple with lock ups that is not even 1% the problem is always on the users end..... I have 100 ps3 games and checked out every forum and everyone single one has a topic like this.
This game is a online game so that is another issue.... If you have done
step 1 Clean all the dust from your ps3
Step 2 rebuilt your HDD
Step 3 Delete and reinstall the defiance game data
Time to try and test you connection go to network settings on psn and run the network test If you don't have a router it should say Nat 1 if you do it should say nat 2 if you get a nat 3 you have a problem and need to research how to fix it.
Step 5 get a new ps3 I have never froze once.
