Hard Lock Up Of PS3

If holding the power works for you when trying to reset then you did NOT experience a "hard lock" and just a regular one. I've held my power down for roughly 3 min before and it did nothing. I've had regular freezes where you can hold the power, and the console halting "hard locks" that make it so that it doesn't respond to anything except unplugging.

People say this on ever single game forum. It has nothing to do with the game your system is starting to die or you have corrupt data. If your system is dirty clean it.....

If it only happens on this game delete the data install and re do it. If all else fails buy a new ps3 problem solved.

Delete the install for the game it self and re do it. 1 million people playing and only a couple with lock ups that is not even 1% the problem is always on the users end..... I have 100 ps3 games and checked out every forum and everyone single one has a topic like this.

This game is a online game so that is another issue.... If you have done
step 1 Clean all the dust from your ps3
Step 2 rebuilt your HDD
Step 3 Delete and reinstall the defiance game data

Time to try and test you connection go to network settings on psn and run the network test If you don't have a router it should say Nat 1 if you do it should say nat 2 if you get a nat 3 you have a problem and need to research how to fix it.

Step 5 get a new ps3 I have never froze once.

Six months ago, probably more, I hooked up a cooling tray to the PS3. A cheap one at that.

I've hard locked less than a dozen times since and mostly using the browser like a dolt.

Stop being lazy and fix your system...... I gave 5 ways to fix the system all you did was cry who is the troll?
1000 users out of a million would not be many and there is less then 100 that have posted here since launch..... Most can fix there problem if they do the work.

The online internet broswer does freeze that is something completely different and not related to the game.

I had the same problem when I first started the game. So I cleaned up my hard drive because it was almost full and since then it has been running good. Try cleaning out your hard drive and see if that helps.

Everyone I know has hard locks in this game every day (on PS3). I call it a "hard lock", if you have to press the button more than a couple of seconds.
Never had this before.

Oh - btw.: it is a bad idea, to turn UPnP on (if your network is connected to the internet):
