Yeah I would never buy a boost either because the current implementation is not worth schtako. I honestly don't understand what went through the mind of the person who decided on having them run on real time. Were they possibly drunk?

I don't remember which game did this but boosts were like a self buff that you could activate and turn off as you needed. That way if you bought a "24" hour boost, it actually lasted for 24 hours of game play.

sad day when an once great gaming company such as trion doesnt care about their customers. To think i was once the person whom defended them in the game and on the forums , lesson learned , money is all they care about.

Wrong or they would care about what was done to you. That is going to cost them money in the long run.

for 10% skill doesnt really make it worth it to me . plus the fact that you have to pray that you buy it during a day that the server doesnt crash for 6 to 8 hours is a gamble i am not willing to take again

That's why I "purchased" skill boosts. I stopped not so much because of the down time due to crashes but because of the bugs currently affecting Bolt Action Sniper Rifles. After using boosts to level it to 20 and not being able to fully use the weapon modded until they fix it was what stopped me from picking it up again.

Then again, I can't understand anyone having spent a cent on this game since launch. I will not pay them another dime until they have demonstrated an ability to stop things people pay for from disappearing or becoming inaccessible (like boosts during a prolonged server outage).

Yeah, I hear ya'. I can't believe that people have spent hundreds of dollars on this game buyin boosts, outfits and lock boxes. LOCKBOXES! Those have got to be the biggest waste of money ever. I've managed to buy at least 2-dozen lockboxes of varying quality just through normal play. I strongly urge everyone to put your wallets away and wait for the game to sort itself out. Seriously, you don't want to end up like the "lifetime subscription" holders in Hellgate:London. (I just can't stop thinking about that game whenever I think about Defiance).

I don't personally understand why the boosts run out when you're not even logged in. What happens if you buy a month of Boost time and then something happens a day later and you can't play for two months?

You basically just wasted all of that REAL money, the way boosts "should" work is they only tick down while you're logged in. I never logged in when Trion gave out those free Boost hours for the "apology" of Launch, logged in recently and it was gone along with my Collectors Edition Boosts.

Just seems like a complete waste in my opinion.

I just don't understand the big deal. Unless you were planning to play for 24 hours straight, you would have lost 6 - 8 hours sleeping as the boosts do not stop counting downing when logging off. You can't expect them to compensate you for everything anytime something goes wrong. It's a chance you take with any micro transactions for ANY game. Shtako happens.
