Seems like their servers are just overloaded. It's getting to the point where it's completely unplayable. And, I might cancel my pre order. Things like this are usually fixed, but the servers have been up for only a few hours and are experiencing latency I've never even seen before. Alien Colonial Marines?

So it turns out that the PS3 beta is more stable. I've preordered on Xbox but will keep an eye out on the performance of both during the next few days. I can always switch my pre order over if things don't improve. (I'm sure they will though!)

Really difficult to do missions with the lag.
Having the same issues here. I press Y to switch weapons and it takes about 3 or 4 seconds for the weapon switch. Some missions I have to do more than once (Killing off Mutant Snipers on the Ridge) I placed the first two explosives but the third one, the prompt would never come up. I abandoned the mission and came back and all of a sudden the explosives blew up, and the Boss came out. The Ego power, takes FOREVER to turn on ....Btw how do you save and quit out of this game? LOL Just dashboard?

I am considering terminating my pre-order now. I find my enjoyment of it so much under what I hyped it up to be. Now I feel bad, I need to tell all my friends to cancel theirs as well.

Well, I mean if you can't play the game because it's purely online and their servers are on the verge of crashing, then why would you pay for the game? If this is any indication, then I will cancel my pre order. Still have a few days for them to fix it for the beta, but my expectations are sort of shot now. Sad, really. Because I've lost sleep over excitement for the game. But after 2 hours of frustration in getting simple game mechanics to function, I'm put to sleep. I love the concept. But with so many issues in latency, and no acknowledgement on their end of the issue, just puts me back to why buy.

Come on guys/gals, this is really a stress test ... ps3 doesnt seem to have as many ppl loggin in n playin as the 360 does ... im sure this issue will be fixed... ppl QQ must be new to beta testing
I cant believe how many people are complaining and thinking about cancelling a preorder for a beta..not just a beta...but a build thats MONTHS old...This isnt a demo. This isnt what the final game is going to be. Its simply a beta. NOT a DEMO. This isnt/wasnt/never/wont be a way for you to get in the game and go "Hmmm should I buy this or not?"
Well at least we stressed test the servers. Right now the beta is unplayable for me. Tired of wasting all my ammo because mutants wont die. Randomly dying myself and unable to revive myself so wasting currency. Missions and interacting is pointless. A weapon switch shouldn't take 2 minutes.
