Time trials checkpoints are delayed

For nearly every time trial I've done (and I've completed them all), there has been a bit of a delay, passing through checkpoints--meaning that I'll pass through one checkpoint, and it doesn't register that I've gone through it. Sometimes it lasts only a second and updates before I reach the next checkpoint, sometimes it lasts more than a few seconds and I've had to restart my race.

Also, weirdly enough, after going through one and it not registering that I've passed through it, and then restarting the race, after restarting, it will "beep", that I have passed through the checkpoint from my previous attempt, and that checkpoint will be gone, as if I'd passed through it.

Oddly enough even tho i had this issue for about an hour i keept trying to do them. I found that if you don't hit any keys b4 it says go the glitch usually doesn't occur. But if may just be a coincidence.

This sometimes is true but sometimes not, so it may be a factor, but not always. I've waited as long as 16 seconds at the start sometimes for gates to spawn, before hitting the gas.

For the record I've done few of the time trials at this point but the OP's issues were quite obvious with the Dodge Challenger challenge. It was also obvious that others were having the same problem. The gates at the beginning were especially bad and sometimes none of the gates would spawn. Sometimes the first one wouldn't, sometimes the second one was missing. And sometimes they just would not trip-I'd go through a blue gate repeatedly and it would not trip. But random gates along the way also would not trip. I'd have to back up and go through them again.

I'm on the xbox and I could see other players doing the same thing as me at the beginning, continually backing up to try and get the first gates to trip, and then abandoning their cars to try again.
