Tier boxes not so random!!!

You hit the jackpot, brother. Exactly my thoughts in place. Can't explain people like that but can't blame/stop 'em either.

Yeah I'm not knocking anyone who's farming them like mad, like Lindrie said, she just wants better versions of what she has, but then my question to that is, how MUCH better does something need to be, or can it be from what you already have?

My LMG has crit+dmg bonus, a purple version would probably give me some kind of 15% grenade refresh or some sort of "Do something either reviving someone or getting revived for X bonus." Which is 100% worthless considering most the time the bonus last for a few seconds. My desire to find a better weapon IS there, but we know the RNG system, we know the "likely" hood of finding X weapon, which makes me not bother with it, other then trying the trade forum, which only a handful of Defiance players even check. (Which is less then a thousand players, -using view counts as proof of low interest-)

I could make a thread saying "Post your best legendary." we wouldn't see more then 10 DECENT ones from every player in Defiance, we would see maybe 3 OP ones. That's out of HOW MANY LOCK BOXES OPENED SINCE START!? lol.
I guess if you find it fun, like yu gi oh or pokemon cards or MTG, I could see why you farm to open them, but unlike the card games, your'e NOT guaranteed at least 1 rare from a lockbox.

If I ran a major clan or any clan with over 50 members, I would tell all of them to go on a bits strike, no more $$$ spent until Trion fixes its clearly CLEARLY broken lockbox/loot system.

Just 2 things, need an orange grenade and shield for my Living to Kill V pursuit. Four of the weapon oranges I've popped were excellent enough to continue resetting the mastery.
well, 3 things I guess - I do like SMGs and SAWs with syphon. I find more syphon stuff in boxes than on Volge.

You'll find those items faster asking a clan or friend to just trade them to you, or trading script in the forum for the trade, then giving the script back, yes I love Saws with syphon (My pvp choice).

I've used all my keys so far on mod caches, I think lvl 3 mods have higher value then the weapons themselves, you can also acquire them faster. You can then use the script to just buy what you want from other players.

Agreed, I swapped to Mod Caches around EGO 2000 when most of my weapon drops were fully mod slotted, now that I'm in the upper 2000's and getting weapons that are single and double slotted, it's less painful on my inventory to do tier 4 boxes and salvage the blues and greens. I did make a huge inventory list to do a forum trade post, but haven't made it yet. I'm not much of a people person. if I was clanned, I suppose I'd try for some sell/trades in clan. I've got an orange FRC scattergun thats EGO 30 (yes, 30) I bet i could sell for 300 or 400K when the DLC hits.

I might do a little experiment to figure out if the box truly is random. For a few days, I'll farm keycodes and buy T3 boxes. I'll start a thread here once I begin titled "Lockbox Experiment". I will then record what I get by rarity (I'll specify type with Legendaries). On Friday night, I'll look back at the data and we'll see if the lockboxes are random or not. Sound good?

I am at EGO 3600+ picked up total of 2 oranges. Clan-mate last week bought two Tier 4 lock boxes. Result was SIX oranges and two purples. Random is Random...

Just got PPBG which is my best T4 for ages. 2 sniper rifles which i don't mind since I am using them at moment.

I should buy Mod caches but I always think, it must be my time, so i save for boxes. With minor ark falls giving 3 keys now, its pretty easy to get enough keys for 2 T4 a day. I only do arkfalls for something to do, I use minor arkfalls for weapon exp on my rocket launcher unless its a crystal destroy, then I use an outbreaker.

And a week after that it'll screw up your newly discovered pattern and you'll lose your mind and become one of them whiners.

PC - Not so Random - Low drop rates/high key earnings - ::conclusion:: Less players, less money spent, lower LB rate to increase sales(aka lockbox grind), Biggest profit margin, no middle man. -low/single purchases from one player-

PS3 - Slightly Random - Mid range drop rates/lower key earnings - ::conslusion:: Bigger community then PC, more money spent by players on PS3, less profit earned/sony cut. -multiple purchases from same player-

XBOX - More Random - Higher drop rates/lower key earning per player - ::conclusion:: Larger community, less profit earned/microsoft cut, Increase LB drop rate to increase more sales -multiple purchases from same player-.


Does this look accurate to anyone else?
