    Lame NIM mission.

OK I'm all for hard bosses to beat but this is ridiculous. I beat NIM the first two rounds only after at least 2.5 hours of fighting him. I'm 53 years old my hands are in the beginning stages of Arthritis and I thought I did pretty good fighting him but this third fight with him is just IMPOSSIBLE for me and I'm sure a few other players are stuck there as well? I have 4 toons all stuck on that third fight with NIM. I'm angry and frustrated now, and that makes me angry at you the developers.

Anyhow, like I said my hands are not what they used to be, so I decided to see what options there were for me to continue from where I left off at the third round with Nim. There is leave and quit the mission option from main map (no frikin way it took 2.5 hours to get here) and there's leave the instance from main map (which should allow me to return to fight NIM from the third attempt where I left off) BUT it's frikin broken. I used that option thinking I could return and it puts me outside the bunker which I thought OK I just have to run through to the entrance to NIM and it will put me in the third instance right? Nope, there is no way back into NIM. No door will open to allow entry back into the instance. I lost my 2.5 hours of fighting this a-hat and I'm pissed.

As the final boss for the main mission I think it should be very difficult (think that fight was hard? try Demon Souls!).

Nim is actually a piece of cake once you know all his attack patterns, and you don't need twitch reflexes for it either. For the third stage you just need to jump at the right moment when he does his AOE fire attack, and destroy the crystals closest to you when he uses the terra whatsit. Decoy and a Ground Pounder makes really short work of him, just fire decoy into a wall and drop a full clip of grenades on it, sucker falls for it every time. Also use a Respark shield. He doesn't attack all that frequently and has a tough time overcoming its recharge rate.

I just want to add my 2 scrip, I am fighting FPS issues my game will get real sluggish then speed back to normal, I tried once but my build was bad and got my ganchi handed to me. After I changed up my build a bit I went back in and killed him, took me about 30 minutes to do it but I managed to run around kiting Nim hiding behind pillars and bunny hopping a bunch but I finished him.

With out my FPS issue this fight would of been cake, like others have said it is probably the build you were running with, the weapon of choice I used was my VBI INF-27 Infector, not only does it have a 40 yard range but it has homing projectiles which helped a hell of a lot since aiming was hard.

I beat this fight last night and I feel your pain OP, he's a beast. I would suggest you try using a BMG (if you haven't already) and a shield such as an Ironclad with a lot of shield power. It doesn't matter if it has a long recharge because you'll be recharging it with the BMG. I also used a high damage frag grenade that I would toss here and there. If timed well you can hit the jackpot once in a while. I specced cellular armor, regeneration, cloak, and a couple of other's I can't recall. The combo of selfhealing/recharging plus the fact the BMG locks on to targets makes it great for this fight imo. Also it links to other targets which helps out in phase 2.

As far as the fight in phase 3 which is giving you fits I can tell you a few things I tried to do. When he was doing the jump in the air group aoe or the orange blasts I tried to kite him around the columns and time my jumps. When he goes to the center and summons the yellow crystal things I tried to get off to the side and break a few then jump to a somewhat clear spot. When he tried to melee me is when I would lock on with the BMG and whittle his health down.

I claim no credit for this strategy by the way, here's a link to the video that helped me beat this fight:

I hope this helps you! Good luck!

Demon's Souls reference made me laugh. That and Dark Souls. Die in those games and it's a bigger loss than just an extraction fee and even the minor foes are one hit killers. Haven't done Nim yet. Is he a solo mission or can he be a group effort?

Looked at video. Man, he reminds me of Allant.

I actually thought the Nim was a bit to easy for a final boss. On my first play-through of the game I went up against Nim and never even got incapacitated and I beat him within 30 mins. He is extremely predictable and you can dodge his attacks with simple rolls and by hiding behind the pillars. They key to beating him is to keep moving at all times. Also a nifty little trick that i picked up to distiguish him from the decoys is to use an infector. The real Nim will attack the parasites spawned from the infector while the decoys do not seem to even notice them. To be perfectly honest I though the 3rd stage was the easiest as well seeing as he was more direct with his attacks and I was able to get up close a personal with a shotgun (Grind Fragger or VBI Auto-Shotgun) and when it came to him bringing up those mini "TerraSpires" if you have the "Blast Shield" perk on you can almost completely dodge the explosion or take minimal amounts of damage.

Here are some good perks that help you fight him (Pick and choose depending on your Ego level and how many points you have or want to spend):
    • Blast Shield - Explosions have to be closer to you to hit you (Maxed out it makes it so explosions have to be 45% closer to you just to do min damage)
    • Rear Guard - Take less damage from behind
    • Feedback - When shield fully recharges you relflect a small amount of damage back at an enemy for a short time
    • Thick Skinned - when shield breaks you take half damage
    • Escape Artist - When shield breaks you move faster
    • Emergency Ammo - When shield breaks you regain some ammo in your clip instantly
    • Fortification(?) - Increases overall health
    • Cellular Armor - Decreases amount of damage you take
    • Regeneration - Adds HP Regen

on the Third battle, try bio grenades( will add a dot effect so you see the True NIM, also slows down him and his clones. secondly try both a bio or electic shotgun, with a syphon submachine or AR to replenish your life and shield when it gets low. that should make the fight easy, keep moving don't get hit by hit Melee!
