Why contracts in co-op is failing. AKA Ditcheredoo!

This has happened a handfull of times.
Me and the wife Join a Co-op to complete contracts together. Then people kill what they need and LEAVE. Leaving us two to fight to the end ourselves.

The game glitches out and doesn't let anyone join back in. How do I know this? My wife and I play in the same room. We have two big Tvs in our living room. Yes we're gamers. She was in an instance with only 2 people and I tried to join. Defiance spits out an error saying instance has ended try another instance. Clearly it wasn't finished I was watching her play. Sorry I digress.

Yes we can quit too like everyone else but the reason we stick sometimes is to help people out. One time we got ditched in Explosions 101 and it was me, her, and some EGO Level 260 guy was looking for everything so I like good community members we helped him with the Data recorders and other achievements.

We also like to stick around to get the XP, and other rewards for finishing. Maybe it's me.

By all means quit and play how you like. I'm not here to tell you how to play.
I'm just pointing out to Trion why this mechanic is failing for the intended purpose of doing the Co-Op missions outside of completing pursuits.

This is what happened with our group the other night. It put LBS into a different Co-Op than it did us, he left that instance so the 4 of us could play together. He got booted at the end because it still held him in that spot in the other instance. That sucked for us because we were shooting to take down Motherlode. Only reason he "quit out" was to be with his intended group, i think that's understandable.

"quitting out" is something i try to never do, not really my thing. If i join a Co-Op i'm in for the long haul. Even PVP I'll try to stick it out even if i'm getting slaughtered. The only time's i'll leave PVP if the frame rate is beyond terrible for me. Or if there are connection issues (P2P connection shooters, you know that one that is a carbon copy from an engine created in 1999..)..

and.. now i've lost my train of thought.... damn it...

Yup. It's mostly Trions fault for setting it up like that. I understand there is no way they can force you into it for the long haul. That's worse to the game. However in the future they should do one of the following.

1.) Stick to just completing the co-op as a contract
    or
2.) Kill 20 or whatever of whatever + Finish that instance.

yeah if the instance isn't finished you don't get the contract.. or just keep the 20/20 contract in the same co-op as the paradise map. 2 birds, one stone. I know there was the explosions 101 inhalers last night and the weekly for taking down dekuso. it just gives ppl more incentive to stay.

Still havn't tried CO-OP yet. Is it pretty tough? Or is it mainly just everyone quits out that makes it so hard?

They aren't tough to finish. You can always finish. the challenge aspect is finishing the co-op pursuits.
Most players who have had the game from launch have played them all through.

They add new contracts which require you to drop in Co-Op again to kill some stuff.
The problem is once these people get that contract complete they ditch the people actively playing. Most times it doesn't pick up more players and you're stuck with 2 or 3 when the instances are made for 4 players.

Co-Ops are fun IMO...gives you objectives or a point to kill a lot of stuff.

they bring teamwork into the picture, i'm all about some teamwork. that's what makes Co-Op games fun. One of the big reasons I enjoy the Battle Field Series.

The Challenging part to the CoOps are to find hiddn recorders, clearning out a certain area in a set amount of time or killing certain creatures in a short amount of time.

These sounds like good alternatives. I'm a fan of the Co-op I play it without the contracts telling me to, but people leaving is getting annoying.
I don't blame Trion for this, it's a problem with most games. Thanks to CoD gamers are getting selfish.
