before anyone even reads what I intend to write below, I fully expect hate mail and all kinds of negative feedback, its ok tho cause you have your opinion and so do I and they need not be the same!

I have spent a TON of money, time and effort on this game and I feel like I should be able to share my opinion and feelings........

Things I have found to be troubling about Defiance:
1. Server Instability (D/Ced every 45-60 minutes & whenever I try to do Major Arkfalls.
2. Keycodes being removed from most in-game activities.
3. NO access to Synergy Mods like Assasin, Stalker, etc.
4. Having 0 Damage @ end of arkfall.
5. Costumes that have NO stats or functionality in the game costing nearly $10 each
6. Can't seem to find any Purple/Orange gear except in Tier 4 Lockboxes
7. Can't farm keycodes to buy Tier 4 Lockboxes and Mod Caches (see #1 & 2)
8. Cant compete in the "Most Wanted" Contest because I dont have the contracts.
9. Drops stink, never get anything good
10. Missions NOT giving consistant rewards (sometimes XP, sometimes not)
11. Lockboxes cost too much (now that keys are near impossible to farm)
12. Lost numerous guns in Salvage Matrix (but havent asked to be compensated)
12. Game loosing its fun with every patch!

Feelings I have when playing Defiance:
1. Frustration
2. Annoyed
3. Confused
4. Discouraged
5. Irritated
6. Sad
7. Angry

Now I wrote a completely different version of this post originally but Mr. Proffessor Sludge gave me the third degree about how it was written...btw I am not trying to be Mr. Perfect, so ummm yeah but hopefully this is easier to read and understand.

Main thing is that I feel Defiance was WAY, WAY more fun to play in the very beginning, now it is nerfed to the point of boredom...btw I am NOT referring to any of the various, numerous Bugs/Glitches that have been found....some fixed (Thank you!)

The contract for the contest was available on the first day of the contest, just like for everyone else. I had the contract finished before I even knew about the contest.

The reasons this type of post gets hate and abuse isn't because you've voiced issues with the game, it's because you haven't taken the time to structure your complaints in a logical fashion. Very few people are going to have the patience to sift through your ranting to get to the meaty interior; that is the message you're trying to get across. The same goes for the people who make this game. Someone has the job of taking the complaints of the forum and bringing them to the attention of the developers of the game. When you make that guy's job easy by using bold, bullet points, proper paragraph breaks, punctuation, and capital letters, you make your work easier to read. Even something as simple as capitalization after a full stop is the sort of thing that we as internet users may not recognize, but anyone who reads for a living notices little things like that. You then have to pause, think about why there's no capital letter, and wonder if the writer did it on purpose or if it was a mistake. When your entire post is full of simple grammatical mistakes and a lack of structure, nobody is going to pay attention.

If you don't care about the opinions of others, or having your feedback heard, why did you spend so much time writing a two page forum thread? You obviously want someone to see it, so show the guy some respect and write properly. There are countless threads on this forum full of constructive criticism which are considerably easier to read, and I guarantee you those threads are getting priority over anything that looks like this one.

Length is not the issue, quality and presentation of ideas is. Your presentation is garbage, and that stops people from going far enough to check the quality of your ideas.

Edit: I'd also like to add that in today's world of multiple cultures and languages, there is a huge difference between words written by someone for whom English is not a first language, and someone for whom English is a first language and they just don't put any effort into writing. People who are writing in a foreign language have a bit more freedom with spelling and grammar because they use it differently. But that isn't really relevant to my point here because you're clearly proficient in English.

Hey man, your entitled to your own opinion, I kind of agree with some of this, and i love this game. I hope everything works out in the end man, DeFi is a fun game to play at its core, but they are making.. questionable decisions right now. Hope for the best, prepare for hte worste. Btw, how much money did you drop on DeFi and why? Just curious. Take care! ;]

I can say that I've experienced some of what you speak of but, dude, if you're having the feelings that you've stated in any sort of consistent manner when you play this game, quit. Take the game out of your system, uninstall it, and walk away. Find something else because it is causing this much discord with you.

I can't say that I'm displeased with the game mainly because I'd spent about two weeks just reading through the forum posts before I really got started on playing. I knew what to expect going in and the game has lived up to that expectation. I believe, for the most part, that lack of really understanding what to expect or not expect out of this game is why so many people are upset. They bought the hype which was much grander than the actual execution. The other thing is that people are awesomely impatient these days with everything and have a much grander sense of entitlement than they should have.

Defiance and, by extension, every other game out there are $50-$60 (or more) investments. Unfortunately, too many people want to have instant gratification and not want to wait to see if the game will really turn into something. They want that special "thing" or feeling right now and it's simply not quite there. The people who get it on these forums don't waste a lot of time complaining about what doesn't work in as much as they point out why a given thing isn't working as intended. Those people also spend a lot more time posting "how to play" sort of stuff instead of "why I can't do X" sort of stuff.

The developers have been called a lot of names but very little constructive information which might help them ever comes from those same people calling them out. So, in a sense, those same people who are unhappy on the forums are clogging up the works so the people who are posting constructive and informative information regarding bugs aren't always being heard or read. Sadly, that's just par for the course with most MMO-type games whether they be shooters, action games, or RPGs.

This isn't to say you don't have a right to your opinions and observations -- you very much do as you've plunked down your money and obviously want to have an enjoyable experience. However, if that is not happening and you aren't happy with the direction you feel the game is going, continuing down this path would be a destructive thing for you over the longer term.

Had no problem reading, following, nor understanding the OP's intent with the post. Not sure about where the confusion came in regarding the structure. I think the post summed up the majority of the DeFi Community feelings and did it without comparison to Final Fantasy XI or XIV, World of Warcraft, EverQuest (or it's many spawns), or any other established MMOs which seems to be how the majority of the rants on here go.

You say I was completely unhelpful but that's not true, because you fixed your post and now you can have a discussion.

I'm going to respond to your lockbox issue because it comes up a lot.. It was pretty obvious with the real money pricing of lockboxes that they were far too easy to gain via key cards. The problem is that they allowed it to go on for far too long, and players got used to it. Add to that the fact that for a lot of us, we've spent hundreds of key codes and never seen an orange. Now I'm ego 850 and I've all but given up on it because it'll take me a month to farm enough codes for a single tier 4 box.

Nerfing codes into the ground without improving drop chance is where they went wrong, I think. Tier 4 needs to be more valuable. Take green drops out completely and increase the chance of purple and orange, now that they are so hArd to get. And make it worth $5, because right now it really isn't.

OK, so what type of service do you have, an how old is your system?

I agree, this should not have happen.

These are going to be released with DLC, or so I have heard.

Do not use/remove Cluster Grenades from loadout.

They need to earn money, have you seen how much they're charging for vehicles?

Well purple shields/grenades from arkfall sometimes, but yes Tier boxes (2,3,4) I have found Orange.

You can farm, just have to do Arkfalls now.

Agree, but as I said "do arkfalls"

I also have lost Multiple!! items/wpns/guns etc (and have not been compensated, but I also haven't used live chat) that were not in the Salvage Matrix.

This is probably due to being frustrated, with all that you've gone through with it. I just log out an walk away, come back after a few an breathe. I am still doing my side missions, an have not faced Nim, I am over 1750 ego.

it is true after Mr. Sludge's first responce I came on and completely re-wrote the entire post....lost some of the actual "Rant" but stayed more to the point.

TO: Jack The Bear......WAY TOO much dude...like over $250 so far.
Purchases so far:
The Game = $60
Ultimate Edition Upgrade = $40
Season Pass = $40
Outfits = 6 w/headgear @ about $10/each
Inventory Upgrades = 6 @ about $5/each (the biggest of the inventory upgrades)
Lockboxes = 8 Tier 4 @ about $5/each
EGO Boosts = ???dont even know how many??? (they are cheap tho)

{{Side note to OldDirtyGamer, the above list of purchases is far above and beyond the purchase price of a game, i think its common knowledge how much games are these days so i dont know why you thought that i was only refering to the $60 for the game and nothing more!?}}

Thank you for your reply and NO I did not view your reply as hateful or anything, fairly simple and to the point but i must reply to a couple....mainly the keycode situation & disconnect issues.....

Disconnect issues: My PS3 is alittle over 1 year old, i have high speed cable internet with a seriously nice router...plugged in/NOT wireless...have many friends who have had exactly same issues...pretty common problem.....only happens on Defiance so with all that said...it is NOT my system but thanks anyways.

Keycode issues: Well if the only place i can get keys (solo) is from MAJOR Arkfalls but I get disconnected "Timed Out" everytime i try then what do you think i should do? yes i know there are other missions and whatnot but i mean come on...they are slowly robbing us by removing all keycodes from activities AND completely removed the fragments altogether....now I also realize that YES the company needs to make money to keep the game running, pay the staff, etc. but the cost must be relative to the value of the item!!!

Cash Shop Break down: {just my own opinion}
Vehicles: they have stats...you can actually use it and drive around! worth about $10 i think
EGO Boosts: awesome! cheap! great!
Headgear: should be included with its counter-part outfit! not worth the price!
Inventory Upgrades: Nice! me likes ALOT! fair price.
Lockboxes: Using Bits=not a bad price
Using Resources = Tier 2 & 3 not too bad, but Tier 4 is rediculous!

I seriously want to touch a bit more in depth on the keycode thing...
***Why take the fragments away completely instead of fixing them?

***Why take keycodes away from most events all together rather than making it only give 1 keycode instead of 3 or 4?

***Why force the players to do only 1 of 3 things in order to get keycodes instead of letting the player have freedom and variety? (I really dont wanna do the exact same thing all day everyday)

Suggestions to make the game better: (NOT that I expect anyone to agree but its my opinion)
*Make it so you can challenge other players to a Dual....maybe the players could make scrip wagers and whoever wins...well wins! DUH! lol

*Make it so we can race each other and not just boring solo races!

*FIX the server stability!!!!

*Either Add 1 keycode back to Emergencies or use the fragment method but at least give us the choice how to earn them! please!

*fix the voice chat, I cant hear squat most the time (and no I am not deaf)

*lower the price of outfits, and include their matching headgear with the outfit

*add Synergy Mod Cache to the "Defiance Store"

*get PS3 content caught upto PC/Xbox users, and keep us up to speed! please!

*Maybe make a "Last Man Standing" type PvP event....all who join are changed to a different color on the HUD but stay in the open world, and have to find each other and kill each other....Last Man Standing wins...obviously would require a 1 death your out type setup...maybe keep the number of players somewhat low at first like 10-20? maybe increase it or decrease it later as needed.
(just sounds like a really fun way to PvP, and different that most)

Not sure what else to say but i am sure you guys will keep me posting replies lol

Good that it didnt come across that way, yah I get the disconnected from server due to timed out alot, an I have a new system, and everything you said. I even raised it up so the fan has access to air flow. Just wanted to put up what others have said to me.
The minor Arkfalls, and the Nano type arkfalls.
I dont use real money for bits, not sure if I will.
Didnt do it for gold, zen, or whatever you call another game currency. Have had to many hacks ingame, new to the ps thing, but still gun shy as it were.
